International vs US boxes English boxes?

I recently bought a booster box or 2 in the EX. On the bottom of the box, one says “is for sale in the US” and the other is for “sale outside the US”. Both are English boxes and cards. Any difference between the 2? Are the cards inside identical? Is the value of each similar or one more rare? Happy to hear any insights on this

The Ex cards have serial numbers on them. Supposedly there exists 3 serial numbers for the commons/uncommons and then only 1 for the rare cards and reverses. Theme deck cards can have different serial numbers. I don’t know if there is a regional aspect to this, but it could be.

The year stamp is the other thing that technically could be different, but I have not checked for this in my personal collection. Your best bet in finding out if there is variation on this is to compare individual cards from sets released at the end of the year. With the EX series this means EX Dragon, EX Team Rocket Returns, EX Delta Species and EX Dragon Frontiers.

Thank you for the reply. Very interesting… Do you think this would make a difference to the value or perceived value of a booster box?

No, I don’t think so. As far as we know, all the juicy cards only have one serial number, and even then, I’m not sure it would matter much.

A differing year stamp on a gold star would be one thing, but I think if such a thing existed, we would know it by now.

Ok thank you

It possibly could affect value but only in a negative way…if at all.
