If you are planning to go to Pokemon Worlds 2016 READ

That’s trash. Pokemon knows what a big event this is and how many non-competitors travel from around the world. Not to mention many who do have already booked their trips and paid for hotels. Absolutely disgusting that they would not anticipate the number of competitors and plan accordingly.

There’s no getting around it, Pokemon fucked this up big time and the fans are the ones that are going to pay the price.

Damn. I heard Nationals met fire capacity and they turned people away. I hope they remedy this somehow.

I know a handful of pokepologists were insisting that Columbus was “just fine and had so many benefits!!!1!1!” but the bottom line is that Indy was bigger. It is a city designed to handle large conventions. Columbus was not and they saw people turned away for competitive play and a lot of spectator complaints.

Cue Worlds. They’ve thoroughly screwed it up by making the venue too small. Every time I’ve been, the spectators have literally driven the joy and magic of the unique atmosphere.

If they need to charge spectators ten bucks or something to pay for a bigger venue, so be it. I don’t know anyone that would really care that much. Whatever it takes to get back into Indianapolis, just name it. The community will pay for it. But this is unacceptable in every way. If they do not make immediate, drastic changes and prove they have learned from this one bad year, they will whittle away at one of the few things that keeps their most committed fanbase throwing down money year after year.

Vegas Baby.
We host the largest conventions in the world (i.e.; Consumer Electronics Show) and all our PokePeople would have a blast:) Heck, all our members here could stay at my house:)

Deal:)

WHOA thats a shocker for Pokemon to do that I guess after last years fiasco with things they are also trying to limit stuff. but the venue last year was pretty big itself

The email makes it seem strictly space related.

I wonder if this might have something to do with fears of terrorism.

Having it in a huge city that apparently must have a small venue (relatively speaking) probably isn’t the best idea in the middle of this Pokemon GO hype. Everyone within walking distance will want to stop in.

Vegas would be awesome as it is always one of the cheaper places to fly into and hotel accommodations are usually quite cheap at the casinos since they want you to have money to blow on the gaming. I would love to make it to worlds or nationals, but have had vacations every single time. How is Pokemon worlds date set? Always the 3rd weekend in August? Unfortunately fell on my honeymoon and now my 1st anniversary trip and will probably hit that most years.
