Roughly 100 cards worth protecting including the 60ish at psa, another 100 or so that live in toploaders that wouldn’t really overcome the grading deficit for value and another 300 binder cards. And 7 wotc base/ first ed fossil and team rocket packs. wish I got into packs earlier
I maintain this hobby as zero deficit to enjoy the financial prospective aspect while not worrying about it at all if every card I have suddenly has no monetary value.
I used to have a ton of random cards but recently this year, I have been reducing my collection into a more focused approached. I’m down to about 80 PSA cards and numerous sealed products. Its enough to fill a book shelf, so I feel a little better about the quality and quantity of what I have.
Boxes and boxes, gotta slim it down sometime but first I have to organize it . Unless you are talking decks, and then I have around 250-300 deck products and probably another 50-100 duplicate boxes in various states of sealed to just the box. Also pins, jumbos, packs, and graded cards (Although many arent really part of my forever collection).
You definitely aren’t alone with that evolutions submission haha. There’s about to be an absurd influx in evolutions PSA and it will be interesting to see how the market reacts.
I have to sift through and sell a lot of junk bulk I don’t plan on keeping, but here’s an estimate of the numbers. I have in total about 60,000 cards, 18,000+ are wotc cards, 700+ wotc foil rares, 400+ non foil rares, 200+ promos, 150+ 4th print, 100+ shadowless, 16,000+ wotc commons/uncommons, some reverse foils and other misc stuff makes up the rest, 40 error cards as well. Sealed product I have 37 wotc packs, 33 are 1st edition rocket/gym/genesis (only 1 genesis 10 rocket and 22 heroes). 20,000+ bulk of newer sets (need to sell), lots of rares and foils from newer sets make up several thousand cards too, I have some psa slabs (not many), lots to organize and sell for early next year. Most was acquired locally and I started this collection in March of this year, buying locally and on eBay. Been an awesome ride and hope to continue it as long as possible, consolidating the majority into slabs is the goal, going for complete sets have the first several sets complete or near complete for unlimited, handful of 1st ed foils as well, nothing too crazy, my favorite cards are errors and finding them in the bulk when sorting is soooo much fun I love it! (found two wartortle errors, krabby error, and a host of different foil errors from wotc to name a few)
This was the question I’d always hoped to never be asked, needing an exact number at least. Including bulk and non graded “worth something” cards, I’d have to approximate mid 5 figures.
My collection is 95% vintage: Roughly 130 WOTC booster packs, 130 PSA cards (+179 at PSA), 400-500 single holos, 10 complete/near complete sets in binders then various middle era and modern sealed products. Still unsure whether to sell some of it off to aquire some higher end items which take up less space
Good timing! I actually made a post a few days ago on IG sharing this exact photo:
To be fair, however, the grand majority of the stuff is just “extras” - bulk commons/uncommons, and random rares that I’ve accumulated over the last 20 years that hasn’t been sold yet. I have a little over 200 unique Gyarados Cards (both TCG & non-TCG) in my collection alongside various “flats” which are just lenticulars, stamps, stickers, box art, etc.
Outside of the 5 cards I keep on my shelf, this is everything I have.
