How do you store your most valuable cards?

I would recommend using a vault for your expensive cards. If you’re traveling, use a normal backpack. The less attention there is to your valuables, the better.

Good to keep those valuables close, but may I suggest a small upgrade:

I used to be a perfect fit sleever, then the lady at PSA told not to use perfect fit sleeves because it increases the odds of damaging the card during appraisal so I switched from briefs to boxers

I actually have over 36k subs on a main channel, this is a new one with like one video. Simmer down.

The problem with psa vault imho

Your treating it like its a 99% gold bar or something. Cool if u dont care at all and only view it as a financial asset. And yes i understand they can send you the card by request

For me i need a chance to interact with all my cards. Show others, display pieces like art, ext

@POKEBEAST this! I love having something tangible to interact with. In a world of digital, whether its music, crypto, or files, I think the concreteness of the card is so fundamentally (at least for me) the reason why I collect.

@dodge_44 lmao :joy: we need a documentary from you for niche people like me where you narrate like this. Would binge all seasons of this for ever

I’m very surprised that we haven’t seen photos of slabs used as drink coasters in this thread yet lol

I agree. I understand from a security perspective why it’s a good idea, but I almost don’t see the point of collecting if some or all of my collection is on the other side of the country and I just see scans. If I’m just going to look at scans it almost even defeats the purpose of buying it. I’m also one of those weirdos that routinely pulls my cards out and actually looks through them  Now, if I owned high-five and six-figure cards that’d be a different story.

I keep them at home and enjoy them and hope the insurance I pay for is actually worth it if it ever comes down to having to use it.

Put them in a paper bag and throw it on the roof. Good luck getting those, criminals!

They want you to think Fort Knox is full of Gold. Really it just has all of the most valuable cards of E4 and blowout forums.

Raw cards: In a well ventilated low humidity environment, kept in a high quality penny sleeve, inside a ringless binder.

For graded cards though, right now I prefer keeping them in the Fanatics Vault: i’m in a low crime city, reasonably safe from flooding or fire, but still.. storing the entirety of my collection in a single place (at home) feels too much for me. Even if the total value isn’t that high, I’m too emotionally invested to lose my whole collection in a random occurrence.

Naturally It’s not the perfect solution, but collecting will always be a matter of compromising. I also enjoy seeing their high quality scans and the possibility in the future to have some of them shipped to my place.
