Obviously you should store them in a safe, but in case you need to bring them with you? I dont have extremely valuable cards, but some that are mid tier valuable, that I think should be stored in their rightful places, especially when travelling to conventions and etc. I also only have 4 thus far so my storage place is small.
I have mines in what is known as a"peli case (known as high standard and durable cases); the smallest one obviously because I only have 4 cards. BUT and this is where it gets weird. I have a gps smart tag in the case, and two pad locks to lock the case. That way, if i lose the case, or someone steals it, I know where it is.
Forgive my weirdness, lol, but it works. I dont have to worry about losing it.
Do you keep yours in a display case in case you want to show them, or a durable case? Or do you simply keep them at home, maybe displayed on the wall or something?
If you loose it you will find for sure the GPS tag but not the cards… I think…
I don’t know if I’ll ever own a card that is worth more than 1k but if I’ll ever had more cards around that value or above I’d seriously consider a safety deposit box into a bank.
I have a friend that had to do it for a Black Lotus and some duals because the value jumped over 40-50k and so on.
@traineramy slick! Perfect display case. I was thinking about this one, to display. There is another one that is way bigger with slots for several cards, but its an overkill tbh. This one is perf
@banks yes. I was considering this too for security
@Kratosso not if there are locks on the case. They dont have the keys
@Kratosso as you read, I’m confident enough to be a self professed weirdo
Also: i agree with you safe deposit bank is a very good idea, I would do the same if i had many valued cards. To keep it with other valuables
A vault is the smartest option to me, if you don’t mind not having your cards on you. For travelling there are plenty of good to go slab boxes you can find(I found one at a card show myself) that should work just fine.
