@xzini Of course F1 is on the TV
@yz2428 you can find those little holders on ebay, they come in packs of 5 or 10 and they are usually very cheap. Donāt hide your cards !!!
That was MotoGp actually, or Moto3 to be specific. But yes thereās always some racing on my tv
omg⦠that shelf! @xzini
love it! so vibrant and colourful

Post inspired greatly by this thread. Itās great knowing Iām not the only crazy one; some of your displays are beyond amazing.
@kkthxbai yeah it is, I love working while I sit there
Iām displaying my base, jungle, and fossil sets. One away from completing jungle and fossil each and a few more for base (got 5 in the mail as we speak!)
Looks cool spinch, do you worry about cards fading from light exposure? Iāve always worried about that and just leave mine in the safe (also for security).
Thanks mate! Well I actually never open that window. It was just for the photo haha. So it would only be artificial light 99% of the time. The clear screen is UV protected too (penzonni displays on eBay) so hopefully that adds some more protection. But yeh I would worry about fading (especially considering how much some of them may be worth) but apparently artificial light doesnāt make too much differenceā¦
Most of those 50 card cases on eBay like this one claim to be 100% UV protected. I find that highly suspect, but that is their claim at least. I probably will end up buying one in the next few months and will have to test the claim with my black light flashlight. I wonder how reasonable of a test that actually would beā¦
I guess Iām only exposing it to artificial light (besides for that photo) so as long as that doesnāt fade the cards then Iām happy. From my research artificial light is ok. Does anyone know anything more on that? Oh yeh you should and let us know the results
I have so many awesome ideas for ways/places to display my cards. But I have an intense case of paranoia towards them being āexposedā.
Just reading up some more on this now. Yes, both natural and artificial light sources emit damaging UV light. The sun emits a high intensity of UV light so definitely avoid sunlight wherever possible. Fluorescent lighting also releases a lot of UV.
I looked up some companies that makes frames like this claiming 100% UV protection. This is ludicrous. Even museum level glass canāt claim much better than 99%. If you want the best possible protection, look for glass that passes the international standard ISO 18902:2007 (97% UV blocking).
From the little bit of research Iāve done on this, it seems that pretty much no matter what you do, things will fade/get damaged over time. The goal is to try to make the damage happen as slow as possible so that fading will happen over multiple lifetimes instead of years. Restricting natural light/fluorescent light and buying some type of UV protective glass is probably sufficient for your lifetime.
Thank you, happy to hear that you like it Iāll just run out of space soon as Iāve been storing my empty booster boxes on the right side, I need to figure something out with that
I havenāt got a display case yet so my cards are sitting on the tv stand in my basement.
I donāt know what gets me more excited about this photo. The 1st edition charizard or titanic on VHS?!?
I donāt display my cards because of my cat XD she sure loves knocking things downā¦
and eating my plants, that especially.
The Law of Entropy will always find a way to mess with us ;(

As a fellow cat owner, I can sympathize with this completely.
