It’s pretty much just printing money for them. Every move they make just pushes me deeper into vintage and japanese product.
I wonder if this will effect the price of shiny zard. It probably will but I didn’t fully realize this cards potential. I’ve had it only a few months and it went from $180 to $300-$500 for mint ungraded that’s crazy in such a short period. I’ll have to grab some more even tho they are modern. I’m not a flipper but I don’t mind hoarding some extras for years down the line :-). Only way I could ever sell anything I value is If it’s a double
I was pretty surprised reading your post that mint shiny zard are going for $300-$500. Ebay solds don’t show any sales above $300 for raw SV49 Zards this year. I’m not sure if you’re talking about 2019 prices or if your figures are off. Also this thread is talking about Hidden Fates possibly being reprinted soon and you’re instinct is to buy more Shiny Zards? Be careful lol.
I don’t think this is correct. I’ve been following them and they’ve gone from ~$700 down to ~$250, where they sit now.
If it keeps them is business, then great. I need Pokemon to keep making money so that this hobby continues to flourish. Last week was the best week Pokemon had on ebay in at least 2 years, possibly ever, and is now neck and neck with MTG with sales as well. I love my vintage product but I continue to buy from distributors and resell their product just to make sure I am giving my support where I can… even if I only make $2 on a $100 purchase.
People are always leaving this hobby, so we have to make sure people continue to come in to the hobby and mature into collectors for this growth to continue. I realize “collector’s never die” but the value can. I just paid $5100 for a non-mint unlimited base set box in ebay auction this week during all this COVID mess, and that was a “good deal”
If true someone link where I can pick some up for retail! I need mooorreeeee
My guess is next few weeks will be extremely strong due to everyone getting $1,200 or more in stimulus money. I’m not a big seller but I had like ten PSA cards listed and I was cleared out of all of them in a matter of two days. Prices weren’t low either. Some of these cards I had listed for months as well. People are probably overpaying because they view the money as “free”.
I am with you on this!
I’ve just recently started getting back into opening product and would like an inexpensive way to open up a popular modern set. Hopefully we start to see the prices come down from retailers. I’d be interested in picking up a handful of tins for the packs!
Another 300 Shiny Charizards Gx Black Labels incoming…
Everyone spending their covid checks on the ETBs… $120+ is ridiculous when you can buy 4 tins for less…
