Hey guys
Quick question, for those that have decided to list their items on heritage auctions over pwcc, could I understand what was your thought process?
The fees are much higher on heritage so wanted to better understand the decision

Following! What are the fees?
Thinking of sending a complete PSA 9 base set.
@sgpokecollect Good question. Hopefully someone answers. Also which one has the buyers premium? And how much is it 20 percent? On high ticket items it seems like thousands are spent on buyers premium alone.
Heritage is a more established auction house that deal with various items - not just sports cards. Auction houses will acquire and allocate items into lots strategically and provide free marketing for your item.
More exposure is always good. And in this case, you have exposure to other investors from the client list of the auction house.
Moreover, the most important thing is that items rarely go unpaid in a well run auction house as they usually ask for several things before you register for the auction:
TLDR - you are paying for the publicity, the quality of bidders and most importantly, auctions end one by one unlike pwcc, where many end at the same time.
I would recommend it.
Buyers are charged buyers premium.
Sellers are charged sellers premium.
This is how all auction houses operate. Everything is negotiable especially if you have certain items that they know will fetch a high price.
Honestly, yeah, PWCC is an obvious pick for me.
People can say whatever they want, but there’s absolutely no evidence that Heritage has pulled in bigger sales despite the fact that they charge MUCH higher premiums (we’re talking 8% of final sales price on PWCC vs like 25% of final sales price on Heritage for premium items).
If anything, it seems to me like PWCC pulls in bigger bids because of the ease of access compared to Heritage. And PWCC pulls in so many items it’s much more of an event that gets more attention from the Pokemon collector community.
The only advantage Heritage has, IMO, is that they will more thoroughly vet the buyers for you, so you should be able to confidently say you can make a sale that month, whereas on PWCC sometimes your item may not get paid for, so you could be waiting an extra month or two before your item finally gets paid for. So if you need the money FAST, PWCC isn’t going to be your best option for that.
Other than that, PWCC seems like a no-brainer to me.
how many pokemon collectors are looking on heritage for pokemon cards vs eBay? also, as mentioned, 25% vs 8% is massive if you have a huge item. plus, buyers are aware of the 20% + tax + shipping they’d pay, so can your item overcome all those fees? for example, if you sold a psa 10 charizard for 250k right now on heritage, that’s including buyers premium, which means it actually realized on the blocks for 200k. you would pay 50k heritage on it for your seller cost of 25%, netting you 150k. at auction houses, i heard there are usually insurance and other associated fees possibly if you have them store the item for a period of time before/during/after auction. at least that’s the case for places like sotheby, christie’s and really established international auction houses. if PWCC is able to sell your card even for 200k, you would net 180k, which is still 30k higher than heritage. if you do sell for the equivalent of 250k with pwcc, you’d net 225k. that’s 50% higher than heritage. at this moment in time, i don’t see heritage bringing in any premium vs pwcc…heritage is the true winner, not the buyer or seller. if i am the CEO of heritage, i’d say come to heritage for sure…i’ll take your 75k.
The seller fees can sometimes be negotiated or even totally lifted, but I agree I would choose PWCC over Heritage when it comes to cardboard.
In the boat looking at PWCC at the moment. The real winner is the government :*( granted you do things by the book. PWCC overall seems to be the best choice. To me they seem to have the best exposure and take a reasonable cut for doing most of the heavy lifting.
PWCC for 99% of what most people sell. I mean we have a 150+ page thread for PWCC auctions for a reason!
How many people on e4 even have a Heritage account? The types of buyers available on each platform is completely different. I wouldn’t sell anything except the highest end stuff on Heritage personally
Long time heritage buyer myself. Haven’t sold anything because I’ve never had 5 figure cards until 2020 lol At five figures you can negotiate, under that they don’t care
