I have 115 code cards that have built up over the past year. they are kind of just rotting so I want to sell them for something
104 of them are from booster packs from the XY series
11 of them are not and I have no clue about, they are:
Black and White Legendary Treasures - booster pack
XY - BREAKthrough PCD Night Striker (Noivern)
Mythical Pokemon Collection - Celebi
Mythical Pokemon Collection - Mew
20th Anniversary - Quarterly Figure Box for DOM EN - Charizard
Pokemon TCG: Mega Rayquaza Collection
Mega Mewtwo X Collection
Mythical Pokemon Collection - Jirachi
Mythical Pokemon Collection - Darkrai
Pokemon TCG: Blaziken - EX Premium Collection
SM2 Elite Trainer Box Tapu Koko
I would really appreciate any advice from some people who have sold code cards. Should I sell all 115 as a lot? Should I split them by set? Are the 11 collection ones worth anything more or the same amount as a pack?
Looking through ebay is a mess, it seems like the wild west with people just making crazy mish mash listings of random things thrown together or sets of like 2x booster pack code cards for 75cents each
Its a terrible hassle that I really only take on for elite trainer codes or sometimes collection boxes. I save it for the big guys who sell them at $.39. Ebay you may get $.25 a piece but they will sit and there is always a chance someone disputes the legitimacy after using them.
There is only one middle man that I know of that buys codes and they buy them for $.165 a piece which in my opinion is pretty good with zero hassle.
While its backwards that older sets are higher priced in packs, the codes in my opinion sell cheaper than you would say a roaring skies. Besides breakpoint/RS I have never seen to high of a push for certain codes, except for the new sets. Usually people just trade their random codes for a specific pokemon they need on the game site.
Trainer kits/collections/decks I would definitely place up there in a bundle and let them snipe around the price of about $1-$1.50 a piece. Nice thing about those is you can just email a simple code out and be done with it.
Thats the bargain with selling codes second market, its way to much work to make any time sense profit, but you run the risk of them claiming they were invalid. Nothing you can do if they dispute unless you take the time to check them all out. When I sell codes I personally message saying they have been all checked out within the last 24 hours and every code has a screen shot of being valid. Of course its obvious bluff, but it protects 99% of the time.
well I listed the collection boxes. guess I will either do a big lot of 100 random code cards for really cheap just to get rid of them or use that site you linked. thank you
