Help regarding a Shining Charizard

Wondering if any of you guys can help with this. I’ve found a Shining Charizard on Facebook that I’m interested in, but want to know if the price I’m offering is worth it. I’m looking at this more of an investment than for collection purposes but I’m struggling to pin a price point on it.

I’m currently looking at offering £100 ($130) (He was actually looking for a lot more!)

Also, any idea on a PSA? I’ve little experience with poor quality cards like this so I’m having trouble. I’m guessing maybe a 3/4?

Also, I’d say it’s probably a 5 depending on the scratches on Charizard(I’m assuming there’s no creases on the card unless I just missed one while looking it over)

No way thats a PSA 5. I would not spend 130$ on something that beat up, the pictures he sent are also terrible. And buying a beat up card for investment is not a good idea imo

I think there’s three answers here:

  1. The card in that condition is probably worth about £100-110. I actually paid £180 for a VG/Excellent copy (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shining-Charizard-Neo-Destiny-Shining-Holo-107-105-EX-GD/133281725316?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) not too long ago.

  2. That’s probably a PSA 1-2.

  3. Don’t buy it for an investment, if you really want this card for an investment hold out and get a PSA 8 or something. I wouldn’t even buy this condition for my binder sets it’s in pretty poor shape.

Amazing, thanks for your help everyone. Kind of had the feeling it was a poor decision so I think I’m just gonna back out (although I think there’s no way he’d deal at $130 anyway)
