Help me play every pokemon game!

Hey guys!!! I’m new to the forum, this is my first question, and I plan on making many more.

So… I want to play one of each video-game version, on the original device. I don’t want to play ALL the games, I want to choose between the different variations (like between firered/leafgreen, I pick only one of them), so I can get the full experience without having to replay the same game. However, I am getting a bit confused on the options and what devices I would need to achieve this.

The list I have now:
I don’t know which from gen 1 - GBA probably
Leaf Green - GBA
Heart Gold - NDS
Emerald - NDS
Platinum - NDS
White - NDS
White 2 - NDS
X - 3DS
Omega Ruby - 3DS
Ultra Sun - 3DS
Let’s Go Eevee - Switch
Shield - NS

Can you guys help me organize this better? And tell me if I am missing any games, because I made that list a while ago. I want to minimize the devices, as I currently have none of them. I already played most of them on emulators, but I want to make a little collection of them in their original devices.

If you guys have any suggestion on this project, I would appreciate the feedback!!!

Just to clarify… you don’t want to play Fire Red and Leaf Green. But do you still want to play Red or Blue? Or are you including remakes when you say you don’t want to replay a game?

I can play remakes, I just don’t want to play the same game like Red AND Blue. I want to play only one of each “choices” for every game

Oh, wow, that is exactly what I needed. You guys are fast haha. I was worried about the DS games, because I didn’t know if I could play them on the 3DS, and also about playing the 3DS games on the switch. I have a DS Lite that only works with GBA cartridges lol, so I never looked into it. Thank you very much!!!

You’re welcome! I started a similar project a few years ago except I was going to play every single Pokemon game. That’s changed a bit because now I’m completing the national Pokedex in one release of every game. For example, I finish the dex in both LeafGreen and Sapphire but not Ruby/Emerald and Firered. It’s been a lot of fun and I’m excited for you to start on your own journey!

Wow, that sound very challenging, but must be very rewarding in the end!!! I always loved playing the games, and as I recently got into the TCG, I wanted to remember the time I played the games, and thought about getting the “full” experience

The spin offs can be a lot of fun too! If you ever have any questions feel free to send me a pm!

Soul Silver for nintendo DS is the greatest and only option. That should be priority #1. Thank me later!

A little off topic here, sorry OP, but have you done a ribbon challenge? You seem like you might enjoy it!

Like get all the ribbons available on one Pokémon?

SmithPlays came out with rom hacks that make the older games much more playable and enjoyable. If you can I would highly recommend playing Yellow Legacy and Crystal Legacy. I have yet to play his Emerald Legacy.

Yeah. It’s a really fun way to experience almost every generation and do a lot of things that were mostly relegated to optional side content.

Here’s a video on it if anyone is interested.

That’s the video that came to mind in your previous post! I don’t think that’s something I would really want to do. I might go back and complete my trainer card in every game I finished the dex in though!
