i have two quests for y’all regarding childhood Pokémon stuff! I want to find some “vintage” things I once had and I want to find out if a certain game exists.
See the once wee tiny shinyumbreon. I believe this was either 1999 or 2000. We all know that @Quuador is the biggest Pikachu collector, but past moi was just that kind to give them that title ;).
So, about that electrifyin’ drip and other stuff on the photo’s; it would be fun to find out that that they are still available somewhere:
A. A pikachu necklace, i remember the hanger itself being metal-ly?
B. A pikachu pencilcase (?)
C. Also perhaps a pencilcase thingie? The clear, orange-ish round “case”? I can’t remember what was in it.
D. Probably some candy!
A Squirtle poster; I had a Squirtle poster; also again around '99-00. It was quite a big poster, framed and all. Blue background, and just Squirtle in the middle. Now I am typing this… it could also be a Pikachu! This is all I know about it. No photo, sadly
Something else; i can vividly remember a videogame, most likely a GBC/GBA game. It was a Pokémon game with (i think) Clefairy, Jigglypuff or some other pink pokemon on the packaging. I do not know if it was a fever dream, i just remember seeing that game in store (also around 99-2001? in The Netherlands). I think there were also other games like that; a packaging with just a “plain” silvery background with only a Pokémon in the center. Curious about this one!
Taking a closer look at the picture I think the charms are actually a little different
There doesn’t seem to be as much space between Pikachu’s ear and his tail as the one in the eBay listing. The right ear (our right, not PIkachu’s) seems to be perked up a little higher
Thinking about it more, I knew what artwork of Pikachu this was. It was something they just slapped on Pokemon Merchandise back in the day but it took me forever to actually find anything that actually used it.
The pikachu necklace looks to me to be acrylic so it could have been something bootleg.
There is a couple bootleg games, like pokemon pink which features jigglypuff on the front, but those styles came out much later than originals. Maybe @shinyumbreon is thinking of a kirby game or a mr. digger game?
I think it was metal-ly. I can kinda remember it just being “cold” and not plasticy or something. But, I was around 4-6 y/o and also thought that i was half cat, do we trust my memory?
And no, it was then my wild imagination or a fever dream, because it was 100 percent a Pokemon. I can see it so vividly! Silvery background, jigglypuff or clefairy in the middle; there were other games as well with other Pokemon on it (that part I am not 100 percent sure of, but i am about the pink Pokemon game)
It’s not a game, but a game console, and it has Jigglypuff on it. Is this maybe what you remember? I know there’s different box arts for different versions/countries so maybe one of them had the multiple Pokemon on it that you mentioned.
