I could ramble on it, but in general my thoughts are that the first movie was alright, but it did not at all scratch that Harry Potter itch for me. The second movie wasn’t great and I didnt even see the third, had no interest to. In general, i felt the movies were rushed, lacked the imaginative draw that HP had, had a weak cast, and just didnt do the HP characters and lore justice. They also changed the villain actor for the third movie and there were just lots of weird decisions. I didnt even know there was a book but it does seem that it is good.
It will be interesting to see if the new remake has any effect on the popularity. There is a very high chance that it is awful though. Not many re-hashed series have been successful!
Even though they weren’t always exactly Harry Potter related i was really annoyed that they didn’t continue the fantastic beasts series, i really enjoyed them and i hate to be in a situation where i’m already all invested with the plot and never will see it finished
Still a lot of potential; and I’ve always maintained that I believe we’ll get a special set released by WOTC, or even a continuation, given how the card market has grown ~
Didnt work for any Lord of The Rings sets - various remakes, nothing really moved the cards.
Cards are quite fringe for movie first franchises. Price doesnt really move on them.
Harry Potter base blisters are like $15 still which sort of tells the story.
Imo the main character foils were crap in all the HP TCG sets. They were so far from the book and had original artwork that further made anyone who liked the books/movies not really relate to it.
The only cool ones are the less valuable ones, such as spells.
