I can’t believe this. I just got an offer of 3100.00 for my Chamber of Secrets box. I purchased this thing for 700 bucks 3 months ago…

People will often send low offers like this hoping to get a bargain from people that have not kept track of recent prices… Still pretty cheeky though.

That isnt a low offer

Agreed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Very rare box to be fair. When I was buying booster boxes a couple of years ago I could find cases of the other sets fairly easily but never came across a Chamber case.

One interesting occurrence was the guy in Europe that had somewhere over 100 Italian language Chamber boxes on eBay, I think he said that he acquired them from a card distributor liquidation auction or something. He actually offered me 30 of them for like 600 Euros or something, I did not accept for some reason unfortunately.

Hello everyone,

I’m new here, I’m trying to complete my promo collection and I’m currently missing a Devil’s Snare copy.
If anyone wants to sell one, feel free to PM me, offering $700, PayPal ready, thanks

Didn’t take long for prices to spike, all quidditch cup boxes under $500 were bought out. Hill’s wholesale moved up prices on all their boxes and is still sold out of quidditch cup atm. Will be interesting to see what happens from here.

Surprised there’s legit demand for these. I love Harry Potter but this card game kind of sucks lol. It has that horrible mechanic where your deck is also your life pool, so you’re effectively burning through your deck instead of using it.

I got a dozen or so booster packs from Half-Priced Books in 2019 for $1 a piece.

Yeah that mechanic sucks, but do pokemon collectors care for the actual card game? Only a small tiny fraction of them does.
HP TCG is one of the few Harry Potter media that came out before the actual movies did, so the artwork is not influenced by them.

It’s a cool piece for collectors who enjoy HP.

If it was just an investment, you wouldn’t see so many packs and boxes being opened lately.
It was definitely not an organic growth, but it’s been underrated and undervalued for way too long, and people finally realized.

I enjoy the game and used to play casually before COVID

One Quidditch box sold for £299 ($414), and a base box went for £718 ($995) - bearing in mind a base box last went for £665 ($913) on February 6 ~

Making me contemplate my desision to buy COS over base haha

CoS will likely always have low supply and value, but the box art on Base is just next level and may resonate with collectors more than the traditional game players. I think that’s likely why Base is climbing more now that wholesalers are running low. The sealed Base booster box is a great WOTC shelf collectible.

Wait is this legit? I can get $500 for my quidditch cup box? Lmaooo

I wouldn’t settle for less than $10,000,000,000

It’s not too dissimilar as to how Base Unlimited increased: there’s comfort going with the first of anything, as opposed to the last and I’m not sure if that is a mentality from baseball card-owners, or not, whom transition to other areas ~ But also the cards have to come into question, which CoS has a lot going for in that respect ~

I have no idea why, but Diagon Alley blisters seem to be the rarest, which is odd. I can’t even get any bites at offering $200 for one! You’d have thought COS blisters would have been the rarest.

Alohomora (Italian) promo sold yesterday for 600 euro. God knows where that puts Devil’s Snare now.

Has anyone ever even seen a Trapdoor promo? Nobody I know has!
