I have a card up for auction right now. In the listing it says I don’t ship out of the USA. I had a guy from Italy ask me if he could pay with PayPal, and have me ship the card to his brothers address in Colorado. Is this safe? Should I do this? Any risk involved? I’ve never had this happen so I thought I would ask you guys. Thanks!
If you ship to an address other than the one linked to their paypal account, you lose your seller protection guarantee
I told him he would have to change his PayPal ship to address to his brothers Colorado address. Am I safe if he does that? Thank you
As long as the ebay shipping address matches the paypal address. Ebay and paypal don’t “talk” anymore so to be covered by ebay the delivery adresses have to stay the same.
Ok Thanks
I decided to not risk it. To sketchy for me.
Just a small LPT:
You can send someone an invoice that you create through paypal and you as the seller can put in the shipping address on the invoice. So you can really put any address they request, even if it’s not tied to their paypal account.
If they pay for the invoice, then they agree to having the item shipped to the address on the invoice and so your seller protection remains intact so long as you use that address.
I called paypal to confirm this.
Thanks for doing this. I’ll know what to do, if this ever happens again. I appreciate it!
Good info @teraz. Another demonstration of the power of e4.
