eBay/PayPal shipping address confusion

Hi all - I’ll cut to the chase on this one quickly. Can’t seem to find an exact response, and my eBay live chat is closed ATM.

Sold a graded card on eBay, eBay buyer (female) notifies me that the card has been purchased for a friend (male). All good there. Female/male just to make the explanation easier.

Buyer then tells me that the friend has their own PayPal account, and will use it to pay for the card via her eBay account, so that the friend’s address is listed on PayPal and where I will send to (I am versed ONLY to send to the listed PayPal address. Lesson learnt from a prior experience).

I get the payment, and have noticed that the PayPal address has listed the eBay buyer’s (female’s) address, and not the friends (male) PayPal account address, even through he has paid for it through his PayPal account directly. He has even taken a screenshot of his PayPal settings and shown me, which indeed shows their address is different from the female buyer on eBay.

I believe this is above board - no suspicion of a fraud etc…just not sure what to do here. Has PayPal defaulted and used the eBay shipping address of the buyer (female)? I think this is what has happened, and I am not going to send to anything other then the listed address.

Thanks for the help in advance,
Dan

Don’t ship unless both PayPal and eBay shipping addresses match. If one doesn’t match the other then they can open dispute under PayPal or eBay depending on which address you didn’t ship to. I’ve had sales before where they want to change the shipping address after they paid even though I didn’t ship it yet but you’re not allowed to. Worst case scenario, you refund them and then they match up the PayPal and eBay addresses and then purchase again. It’s a headache but that’s how it works
