Graded Gem Allegations

Memphis distribution center: where packages go to die. Never happened to me but I’ve seen at least 3 or 4 instances of people on here having lost packages there

If I understood correctly, gg didn’t inform customers of their lost/missing cards for 10 months? If that’s the case, then nothing that happened after that matters. They deserve what they get.

15,000 client cards the middleman was sending to PSA.

To me it felt like he was kicking somebody when they were already down. I often find that a lot of channels like rattles that do investigative stuff and stir up drama eventually become the center of it at some point.

Sometimes you live long enough to see yourself become the villain haha

FedEx lost a package that was going from Canada to me in the West Coast of the US. I just shipped a good chunk of my collection to pwcc, I’m not going to be auctioning it off, and it was overnight it took almost a week for it to get there. FedEx nearly lost a six-figure package from me. Doing some research I noticed that they had a large amount of PS5 thefts. They don’t have the same level of tracking that ups and USPS have. I think there’s definitely some accountability that has to be had for the errors that are being made with shipping services. A lot of the times people say don’t insure your items because that means it’ll get stolen.

I find this absolutely hilarious coming from you who’s defending Logan Paul. Somebody who is notorious for making a ton of mistakes in the past. I don’t think he handled those situations very well did he?

Sometimes I think I should take your sage advice and recognize that everybody has done things in the past. mistakes and also not handling situation as best they could. Unless that doesn’t apply to everyone else besides your friends.

I defended Logan? Where did I do that? Lol.

jes, I love this thread. I thought when I would log on I would have to argue on this matter but luckily not.
The second vid did not add anything else but useless personal attacks. I would have liked to see an apology for the blatant misinformation Rattle spread in his first vid.

It just looked like Rattle wanted his ego restored unfortunately. I dont like useless drama.

A point I would add in this discussion is how Connor looked, he looked tired and unhappy. To then throw punches under the belt can really affect mental health.

The problem I have with it all is there is a pretty big conflict of interest.

Parcels going missing and poor service (to say the least) delivered by Graded Gem, all while the two guys running Graded Gem have went and set up another company (ACE Grading).

Sure one of them stepped down as a Director from ACE in October this year, but its only on paper. He still owns 1/3rd of the company and will no doubt be spending time and money on the company as a result.

As a submitter, I’d be pretty pissed knowing my cards have went missing, I haven’t been told about it, and from all accounts offered quite a bit under market all while the Director is spending time and money on monkey branching and building up the reputation of another company in the same field. It’s just bad for the customer.

For anyone concerned, the addresses below are not the home addresses of the directors (Randolph, Tom, Connor).

Connor made a great response video, especially the second part where he responds to Rattle is very professional and spot on. It really sucks that a lost package happened and that people have potentially lost their cards. However I totally understand Graded Gem’s point of view in all of this and I’m 100% sure that Connor makes everything he can to make things right.

Graded Gem has always been very professional and great service. I used their service to send cards to PSA even before they became Graded Gem. It really sucks to see the ill will against them right now knowing how hard these guys have worked. Especially during the pandemic when the boom happened with hugely increased demand.

The videos just seem completely unnecessary.

It’s not “giving them a voice” it’s just shitty content. Almost as bad as the pack openings…

I was expecting Rattle to interview people who had their stuff go missing due to the fedex situation & then interview Graded Gem for their view. This wasn’t handled correctly & now it’s a battle of pride.

That 2nd Rattle video literally adds nothing to the conversation. So much for the ‘when I’m wrong I always apologize’ claim.

So was a fair market value of sold listings matching their pregrade given? For example if they pregrade 8-10, was mint condition raw sale price given? If they took 10 odd months to notify, what period of time did they take the sale prices from?

IMO yes submitters should be aware postage can be lost, but it all comes down to them doing whatever insurance was agreed at the point of sale between submitter and GG.

All your questions are answered if you watch the GG video

The best part is FedEx won’t even go above $1,000 in insurance for collectibles, so you would have to go through a third party just to get the proper insurance.

I got my insurance through PWCC. I’m sure PWCC’s insurance is better than Fedex.
That being said, I don’t want to test it out haha.

A bit of a tangent, but since this relates to insurance pay outs… I really don’t understand why insurance has to be so complicated.

Suppose there is a 1 in 100 chance that a package will be lost.
Suppose I want to insure said package for $1000 dollars.
If the insurance company charges $10, then statistically they break even.
Fine, so let them charge $20. Statistically they double their money. They receive $2000 from customers for every $1000 they pay out.

Literally nothing else should matter. It shouldn’t even matter what’s inside the box. It could be a box of rocks, worth absolutely nothing. If I insure the box of rocks it should be like buying a $20 lottery ticket. Maybe it pays out $1000, but most likely it doesn’t. I can choose whether I want to buy that “lottery ticket” to reduce my own risk. It should be none of the insurance company’s business what’s actually inside the box.

I have no clue why insurance is more complicated than that, because to me the above makes perfect sense.

Because every dollar paid out in claims is a dollar of profit they don’t make. They want you to pay for more than you need, and pay out less than you deserve
