The whole gold star dog situation pains me as someone who actually needs them lol. They’re the last gold stars I need and I’ve been holding off on buying them for over a year now. I didn’t expect them to quintuple in price within a year; they were so readily available before…
It’s also a sad situation because they happen to be beautiful cards. It’s a shame that their legacy is tainted. Because otherwise I bet they’d be second to only the EX Deoxys gold stars in terms of price.

IIRC Cardhause had 5,000 total of the gold star dogs
I have master sets of every set from RS through UF and the dogs are the only gold stars missing from that lol. And then I have duplicates of the gold stars from those sets that are of Gen 3 Pokemon (except for Rayquaza and Latios, which I only have one each of). And then I have all the other gold stars of Gen 3 Pokemon. So, all told, I have maybe ~15-18 gold stars in PSA 7-9 quality condition. And I have an additional two Treeckos and a Mudkip at CGC that are ~7.5-8 quality.
Sorry to disappoint, but zero gem mint gold stars haha. As of present, I’m only going for exs and holos in PSA 10/CGC 9.5. I haven’t even touched the gold stars in that condition because…$$$ lol.

Some of these have had quite a large pop increase, quite surprised by the data
I would ignore the dogs, they are an outlier and a freakish circumstance in general. Besides them everything is single digits.
<10% pop growth over the course of the past year is “a large pop increase?” I disagree.
