Going to Japan, but not for Pokemon

Hey all.
I am going to Japan for my honeymoon this year, and I’d like to get some tips/testimonials/suggestions/advice/discussion around going there and making the most of the trip. We are planning to go for 2-3 weeks.

Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto are obviously in the pool of locations to visit but I’d really like to know if there are any lesser known locations that are worth a visit that perhaps get passed over for the more obvious locations.

We love nature, history, and are looking at September for the visit.

TL;DR - Going to Japan for honeymoon, please tell me things you would have liked to know when you went, or places you would have liked to have spent more time in.

I can only think of 2 reasons to go to Japan. Bunny Island is the other.

I was stationed in Yokosuka and went to Yokohama/Tokyo/Sasebo and a couple other places, I wish I could remember some of the cool places I went to but that was back in 2007. So many more places I wished I went to. Have fun on your honeymoon. Just make sure you don’t tip and never stick your chopsticks in the rice :wink:. Make sure you eat at Coco’s too :heart_eyes:
