First: Finish my Master’s degree. Second: Get a job and work for a few years. Third: Get a PhD. I mainly collect based on the art I like, so I want to get all the cards I want from each of the vintage sets in PSA 9 and/or 10 up until EX era. I also definitely want to buy cards that tickle my fancy when I can afford them: Mew Ex Play promo PSA 10, Gold Star Umbreon and Espeon PSA 10, buy a Red/Green Gift Starter set, and buy two Sylveon Special Boxes to name a few. If I am really fortunate, I might try for Giovanni’s Scheme and Here Comes Team Rocket XY Promos PSA 10. It is a bit tricky to know what I’ll be able to afford in the future, but I figure if I steadily collect and save money where I can, then I will accomplish my goals.

The sets I will exclude from these goals are 1st edition base set-I probably won’t be able to collect them in 9s and 10s maybe 7s and 8s and it may take more than a decade to do that. Maybe I am being ambitious with vintage sets up until ex era, but I’m willing to edit this as I go.
My decade goals are probably just to find a way to increase my purchasing power. Gotta get a snap bulbasaur somehow.

At this point that card is just a mirage in the desert. Itll be a miracle if it ever pops up for sale lol
to expand on my goal of the decade to complete the base set master set. I will break it down into years.
This year complete Foreign base set 1st edition in psa 9. I am missing Spanish and korean 1st edition 1-16 in psa 9 2 dutch 1st edition in psa 9 1 Italian 1st edition in PSA 9 and two portuguese 1st edition in psa 9.
Next year to complete English 1st edition in psa 9 missing about 30 cards right now.
The year after to complete some of my Foreign base set unlimited that i only need a few psa 9s to complete the sets
and somewhere in these three years get the last 19 no rarity symbol psa 9s that i need to complete my set and grade all the mint ones i have now.
then the year after that i hope to complete my goal so within three to four years i would like to have gotten every base set holo in psa 9 and Shadowless 1st edition and no rarity symbol full 102 sets in psa 9 with all non holos for the rest of the sets in nm to mint condition.
and then moving onto year 5 once that is complete start my charizard psa 9 master set would love to get one of every Enligsh charizard in psa 9.

I don’t have huge goals when it comes to collecting (I like to take it easy) but I hope I make good progress in my ex-series binder set. Some sets are almost complete and some I’m still missing almost everything, like FRLG and Team Aqua vs. Team Magma for example.
I know I will complete my goal of having all English and Japanese Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales variants graded (grade doesn’t matter). When I send in my next PSA submission and get it back I should be done (as I don’t expect any new Alolan form cards to come out in Sword & Shield era).
And of course I will keep doing similar thing with Salamence and Rayquaza. My Salamence PSA collection is close to completion but Rayquaza has so many cards that I have a long way to go (even though I already own a lot). I’m trying to do the same with Flygon too as I have a good start.
Oh and I’m slowly making a Japanese Gold Star collection having one of each GS graded. Grade doesn’t matter so yes, I have some that are like PSA 5 & 4 but it doesn’t bother me. When I see a cheap Japanese GS that I don’t have I’ll try to pick it up. I’ve made surprisingly good progress in that so far. I’m not going to include Espeon and Umbreon GS though as they are too expensive for me.
And of course I will keep buying any cards that I like

I haven’t completely decided what route to take as I don’t tend to solely focus on one or two things but collect a variety of sealed/master binder sets/psa/poke video games/poke collectibles not related to the tcg. I am leaning towards though:-
- Getting hold of a mint Base Set Booster box at the very least, maybe a Fossil/Jungle/Team Rocket as well as I’m starting to lean more towards sealed products in my collection over anything else.
- Considering starting a PSA 10 Base Set Shadowless collection
- To be honest, anything that takes my fancy
I’m having fun just collecting what I can so no pressure either way 
This thread has made me realise I have so many unfinished sets/goals because I keep starting new ones…
Binder set goals:
- Finish off my WOTC binder sets (Base, Jungle, Fossil, Black Star Promos)
- Complete my Rotom collection (minus Ishihara GX… unless I win the lottery)
- Complete my Japanese SM8B Ultra Shiny GX sub-set collection (currently at 19/45, waiting on 4 more to arrive from Japan)
- Pick up the last few cards I need to complete my XY BREAKthrough set
- Pick up the last few cards I need to complete my Shining Legends set
- Complete my DP Secret Wonders set
Sealed product goals:
- Add a few more sealed booster boxes to my collection; Jungle and Team Rocket are top of the list
- Continue collecting sealed Japanese promo/limited release products
Other loose goals:
- Expand my full art trainer collection
- Add some PSA 10 cards to my collection that I like the artwork of
Maybe goal:
- Start a Komiya artwork binder

My collection goals for the next decade would include:
- Complete a PSA 9 1st edition Chinese base set. (progress: 4/102 PSA9, 22 ready to grade)
- Expanding my Japanese promo collection
It’s not much but I’m still in University and don’t have to much funds to spend yet
Currently looking to complete my Unlimited Gyarados from the Rage of the Broken Heavens set (Japanese Breakpoint) for my 2020 goals:
- Japanese 018/080 Ultra Rare UED
- Japanese 019/080 MegaUltra Rare UED
- Japanese 081/080 Full Art Secret Rare UED
- Japanese 082/080 Full Art Mega Secret Rare UED
- Japanese 089/080 Full Art Mega Secret Rare UED
- Japanese Blastoise EX 092/087 UED (features Gyarados)
Outside of that, if they’re confirmed to exist, I would love the Unlimited Gyarados from the L1 set the next decade:
- Japanese 023/070 Holo UED
- Japanese 023/070 Reverse Holo UED
And of course, if by some stroke of luck, I would love to purchase a played copy of Snap Gyarados as that’s the only conceivable way I can think of adding it to my collection.

Edit: As far as personal goals go, I did have a few major life changes coming up. My friends are all moving in with their partner’s next year so I’ll be a Behavior Specialist for an additional year before I go into Park Services or Conservation efforts. So that’s a 2-3 year plan for me. Endgoal of that, so hopefully by the end of 2030, is to work in California with the Red Woods. Had enough of working with people - I’d rather do it in the woods.
Other than that, playing guitar, so hopefully know how to play music naturally by the end of this year or next year. Goal is to make 3 recorded and produced songs - just recently set up a miniature home studio in my closet so that should be fun. Need to get sound absorption insulation before I go all out.
Oh and um… Might be getting into modeling for art soon. I have a gig in February. Doing it as a side hustle so if I like it, it may be a larger goal.

Next two years, hopefully hunt down a PSA 10 1st Edition Korean Base Charizard to complete the set

Try and get the most of the 1st Edition Base Holos in PSA 10 by 2025 and then hopefully Charizard as well by 2030.

Look out for other PSA 10 cards or find cards to grade for WOTC jungle, fossil, Team Rocket, Skyridge and Neo Sets.

I’ve set some good goals for the next decade. Within the next ten years I’m planning on being a home owner. I vision having a bad ass man cave with lots of my Pokémon collection displayed. Definitely planning on having a top of the line wireless security system also.
Collection wise, I plan on completing the rest of the WOTC sets I don’t have in PSA 9/10. I’m definitely going to pick up some more WOTC sealed blisters and hopefully some more boxes to.
Work wise I’m hoping to have my bosses position within the next few years. It’s been talked about and he is getting closer to retirement every day lol!

Honestly I have no set goals for the next decade collection-wise. I have some ambitious projects I might like to pursue such as English ex series, trophy cards (these are quickly passing me by though), 1st ed. base (quite accessible in lower grades actually) etc but really don’t have a handle on what that might look like. Generally I’m looking to try to decrease the number of purchases I make but increase the quality of them, if that makes sense. As of now I’m planning on buying/grading cards I like and we’ll see where that takes me. Considering collecting more generally, I would love to have a well-organized display of the cards I have in my collection by the end of the decade. Hopefully that means having an apartment/house in which to set up!
Personally I am hoping to have completed my education and started my career by the time the decade is up. Still got a couple degrees to go but hopefully I can get there sooner rather than later!
