I want to share something that has been a goal with my Pokémon cards collection. From day one, I realised I could not collect everything. I limited my collection to the sets and cards that I really loved and set a goal; To sell everything else to save cash for my version of a 1st Edition Charizard - a ring to propose to my gf.
And today was the day! I proposed and she said YES!!!
The purpose of this thread is mainly to see if anyone else have any other cool goals with their collection. I could have bought a 1st Edition Charizard, but this goal motivated me way more.
PS: It felt great to tell her that her ring was funded by Pokémon cards lol
I wouldn’t have really called it a product of my collection goals but to put it in collecting terms I would say I locked myself down a POP 1/1 Black Label Pristine 10 spouse a few years back.
I would hope nobody out there is putting cardboard ahead of a life goal like that. I also hope this ring didn’t set you back anywhere near the cost of a BGS 10 black label charizard… haha.
I like to think that you are right. I also love to see what goals and the right motivation can accomplish This also proves the fact that dedication to ANYTHING (in this case, pokémon) will pay off!
The ring didn’t set me back a black label Zard but a gold label, maybe? Nah but it feels good to be a college-level student and be able to do this
Never even thought about that, but yeah I guess it kinda is! Wish I could have just thrown a pokéball at her tho. Would have been way more fun.
I have to say, I never thought I would receive so many kind words on a forum. Makes me happy to be part of a hobby like this but also the community that exists on this forum. I have never been a fan of forums but this one is really unique. I’m a fan of this
