Do you remember the first card you sold? What was it? Did you originally buy it with the intention to sell? Piggybacking off this same line of questioning, what was the first card you bought with the intention to later sell?
Gary: how many 1st edition psa 10 shadowless base set charizards, shadowless psa 10 charizards and sealed 1st edition base boxes do you actually own?
Gary and Scott: in regards to the pokemon value spike increase in 2016-2017 what do you guys think about it? Iām sure you thought that the cards would go up eventually but did you expect it to hit aggressively with cards going up hundreds to thousands of dollars in a few months or more of a gradually increase? Since the spike its all been leveling out do you think another possible spike in the future is possible?
If either of you were given a role at TPC with the goal of expanding the TCG player base while also appeasing collectors, what would you do? In the scenario you have complete control over the pokemon franchise (toys, games, apps, cards, tournaments etc).
How confident do you guys feel in the future of PSA 10 Jungle and Fossil common and uncommons? Do you think they will ever catch up or come near the value of graded Base set common/uncommons?
Q1: What are BOTH of your thoughts on the shadowless āno damageā ninetails. Can either of you think of a reason for why so many other error cards have PSA labels that recognize their errors, but PSA does not recognize this one? Think it will change soon? Iām very frustrated by it and want to grade mine. I imagine you both have this card in your personal collections.
Edit: Please include your suggestions to help get it a label for correct grading too!
Q2: How much should factory lines hurt a grade? The neo genesis lugia is hard to grade because of factory lines, but do you think a certain amount of ālinesā still deserves a PSA 9 vs PSA 8? Or does having factory lines at all dictate an almost automatic 8 grade? It simply stinks to have an otherwise flawless card, but a few hard to notice lines can knock it down to an 8.
I plan to make my own video on both of these topics, but would love your opinion too.
Gary & Scott: what do you think the new Pokemon of our current time is? eg what is a current show or hobby that kids are loving now and you think could be as big as Pokemon? or do you think Pokemon is unique in this way?
Scott & Gary: whats the biggest trade, sale and purchase you have done during your time in the hobby?
Gary & Scott: last question i promise do you keep a inventory list and value of everything you buy or own if so how do you keep track of it and what do you use to do so?
Hey Scott, hey Gary, now as we all know each of your collections are both pinnacle points of this hobby, unique, and not replicable. That being said⦠I really got to know. Who is the real king of pokemon?
If I wanted to start a small time eBay store in about 4 years from now would I be better off building an inventory of great deals I come across until then or just piling up cash? This will be a side hustle, not a main income. I also have ample room for storage, so that is not an issue.
Also would older sealed product (b&w and early xy) be a good to start off with or should I focus on psa cards when I start up?
Thank you both for sharing your passion with the community and igniting my love of pokemon into something more than just past childhood memories.
At what point do you think someone can call themselves a serious collector?
Where do you see the high-end Pokemon card hobby in 10 years?
Does the immaturity factor in Pokemon (e.g. rampant FB/IG scamming, nonpaying eBay buyers, fake card makers, etc.) impact Pokemonās ability to ascend to a major collectible?
Scott, will you force Gary to come to worlds so we can all hang out?
