GameStop & BestBuy Promo

Just curious what the overall thought was on the promos. I’ve seen a lot more hype around the Umbreon due to it having the GameStop stamp - but I do have some frustrations.

I’ve seen a couple people now tweet out how they were given multiple copies without needing to purchase, also seen people say their GameStop hasn’t received any cards.

I’m guessing the best play is to just wait it out and then scoop? Not sure if these kind of promos usually see a large number or how they usually play out.

Was just looking for a little help cause I’d like to add one to my collection

There are some on eBay for under $20. I’d just wait it out. I called my local stores and they said they will probably get the promos a week late. So supply should increase soon

I greatly appreciate you - I figured I better not let FOMO get to me, I’ve heard from many that they haven’t even received theirs either. Looking forward to getting some without a hassle

Mine didn’t have any as of yesterday. I’ve seen posts of people saying their store barely got any. And to be honest, if it wasn’t for the fact that Umbreon is on the mons I collect, I wouldn’t get it, because I think the store logos don’t look good on cards. But I’m just going to wait it out until next week and see how the availability goes.

My GameStop also has yet to receive their stock of these promos as of Sunday. People reported similar delays with the Paldea Evolved Tinkaton at launch, and those go for around $5 each now, so I imagine that this will play out similarly.

I really dislike the proportions of this Umbreon illustration, and I have to assume that I am not alone in that opinion. For that reason alone, I have no interest in this promo and I would not expect it to spike.

The Umbreon Gamestop promo will soon be under $10 for these reasons:

  • The reverse holo pattern is the same as the main set. Why not make this holo to give a different variation?
  • The Gamestop logo being red and boring adds very little. Should have used the set logo like the Espeon at Best Buy.
  • The artwork is just ok.

It’s a cartoon-y artistic interpretation of an imaginary creature. I personally love it. (But yes. Anotomically, it’s a mess.) :laughing:
