I would really like to find a shop with a large quantity of good old school product. I’m located in East Tennessee so the closer the better but I’ll take any and all suggestions for documentation in case I end up in the area. All of my local game stores are barely involved in Pokemon and if they are it’s just one binders worth or exclusively new product. Thanks for any suggestions and hopefully this thread can help others out as well!
Good luck.
I bet that’s something we would all love to find in our respective local areas.
Pretty sure most retail game stores’ mantra is ‘move product or die’, meaning they’re much less likely to have old product sitting around like what you’re looking for. The exception to this is when someone comes in off the street looking to sell their old boxes of cards, but I can almost guarantee you the shop owner has a list of 20 people that have already expressed interest in old product that are waiting for a call the second the product is in the hands of the owner.
For real lol. I mean I’m not expecting to walk in and find Mint 1st ed base cards and trophy cards or holy grails for next to nothing. I just want to be able to walk into a store and look through some WOTC bulk to complete my binder sets and to look through a large selection of graded and ungraded cards that are priced fairly. I just want a store with an old school Pokemon section as large as it’s MTG section. Is that too much to ask?
That’s a good point but my local mtg community is almost barren for modern and legacy but local stores still display, buy and sell modern and legacy singles. They just move them online after they sit for a few weeks so I figured stores who were interested in old Pokemon would do something similar. You are correct about the 20 people lined up with interest in Pokemon stuff lol. The owner of the only game store in my town messages me anytime he gets Pokemon stuff in because he knows I’m the only one who has a vast knowledge on old school stuff and would actually want to buy it. Then what I don’t buy if it’s worth shipping he throws on ebay.
I think it’s too much to ask indeed. Maybe if you rewind back 5 years ago that was a thing, but you’re basically looking for Pokemon heaven at this point.
