Why wouldn’t that be sustainable? It may not be, but right now, I only see that number becoming higher. I think they should start printing a lot more to meet the demand.

The demand keeping up with supply at these elevated printing rates is the unsustainable part. 3 years from now Pokémon will be overprinting if maintaining the current pace

Exactly, Pokemon has pretty much unlimited funds to expand on printing. But at some point it will tip over and they’ll print more then is in demand
I’m not sure. Since Sword & Shield print numbers have been going up year after year. A set like Paldean Fates already has lots more PSA submissions than something like Lost Origin. It could at some point slow down again, but that seems very unpredictable.
It feels to me that a lot of people (not saying you are) are refusing to see that Pokémon has changed since 2020. I’m just not sure if it will go back. There will be dips probably, but maybe not significant.
Once the free tendies are gone, there will be mass exodus from the sports guys, sweatpant heroes, etc. Before Surging, Pokémon had a nice balance of printing capacity and demand.
I have never seen a period of time since 2003 where real collectors are quiting at this pace.

Although I do see a MP/LP condition one for 790 USD on eBay right now, which isn’t a bad price tbch.
It has quite a few cameos: Victini; Chespin; Ducklett; Jumpluff; Klefki; Togepi; Marill; Fennikin; and two I’m not sure about (I think Bergmite and Oddish).
I think think we’d need a similar thread like this for all non-English cameos: List of All Pokemon TCG Cameos (English).

I FOMO’d a champion-stamped world promo card. I bought it at a higher price than those who sold afterward, but who could have known they kept coming and coming, even though they were supposed to be super rare? I think I’d do it again, though—it feels safer to say the FOMO was justified when only a dozen of the card was supposed to exist

It could be. But last time when the people that are in it for the money left (2023), the printruns did not lower. I do agree though that it will become more accessible again.

Just a couple days ago I “FOMO’d” into a 2016 Festa Pikachu PSA 10. I found a too good of an offer to pass up, $7210 for it shipped.
All I know is that this is way less then what they went for a couple years ago and still within a range of what I was willing to pay. It was now or never I suppose and I had never gotten this card before due to the price. So I dropped the cash for him to be part of my collection 
Good timing because Phantom Displays just dropped more product on their website and picked up a few GradedGaurd x Phantom display acrylic cases for some cards.
Guess who is going into one 
Now to buy the rest of the Festas that I sold for globs of cash in 2023 lol.

I’ve always been pretty tight and patient with buying singles, so most of my FOMO definitely revolves around sealed product. I may or may not own a case of JP 151 that were purchased at £150/box before the reprints came outta nowhere over a year later…

I’ve been building a Mudkip collection. I’m getting the big hits and my personal favorite cards in PSA 8 (mainly because it saves more money this way.) I spent a month looking for a reverse holo Great Encounters Mudkip in NM condition; there were no listings of this card in any grade I could find anywhere.
I ended up with 3 of them, and I sent them off for grading with PSA at the end of February. Three days ago, someone listed the exact card I’m looking for in the exact grade I wanted. Guess I’ll end up with 4 of them now.

My modest budget sees $790 and immediately nopes it 
I don’t have cameos in my “official” main collection. So I’m okay just knowing about the cameos and not owning them.
A non-English cameo thread would be an awesome resource, but obviously a ton of work. Maybe even more so now that we’re getting more non-Japanese, non-English exclusive cards.

I confess I’ve been constantly checking local stores for TR and neo uncommon and getting mad that they are cleaned out. Simultaneously I’m kicking my self for not trying hard enough to find cards in 2019 after being gifted a collection from a thrift store after helping them out.
