Bought a collection today and came across a bunch of cards from a latias trainer kit that seem to have very light text ink, it’s like the grey stamp 1st edition cards but with all of the text! Just wondering if anyone has ever run into this or can tell me more? Is it relatively rare or do these “faded” cards pop up all the time?
Any way I can add images without a URL? Or do I need to host them elsewhere and then just use a link?

Pretty uncommon, I’ve got some unlimited base set cards like this, don’t know anyone who specifically collects them though

Yeah I was thinking it may be sun bleaching, not sure though! Although I would think that the whole card would be bleached if that were the case, and it seems to just be the text…
Ha I was going to say the same! Pop them on a window sill for a bit and they will fade.^
I can’t speak for the cards that OP owns, but on mine, only the black text ink is faded, the rest of the card is normal, printer would have been low on ink, comparative to grey 1st ed stamps

Yeah it looks like just the text to me, although perhaps sunlight has a more drastic effect on black ink so it’s the first thing to fade? Maybe I’ll test it by sunbleaching a different card! Anyways thanks for the insight, just got the cards in a collection so I have no idea what their backstory is haha
And you only have the Latias trainer kit? Weren’t the Latias and Latios Kits packed together like this:
Reason I’m asking: The Latias kit contains a Pikachu, so if you have that one with grey ink I’d love to buy it.
More on topic however: color inconsistencies like this happen sometimes. The Grey stamp of the Base 1st edition stamps is one example of this. The XY Evolution Pikachus and Devolution Spray are two other examples:
And I’ve also seen this Grey-eared Surfing Pikachu (top right one), which lacks black ink in both the artwork and text, similar to your cards:

Nah it looks like those 4 are the only faded ones, rest seem to be normal color! Thanks for the info though, wish I had the pikachu! Although if I did I’d be keeping it for my own collection! 
Have you checked they are genuine cards? or it could just be sun damage
Boy these sure are some nice pikachus!
Normally red is more prone to fading
heres one of my unlimited base cards with faded black text, you can see the black on the energies are unaffected
