Wow! That is horrendous!! It hurts! I only ever pulled one from a pack it was fairly recently, it is so poorly cut and OC I doubt it would get higher than a 8 at best.

When even the 9’s have a healthy profit it’s easy money. Too easy. Current modern (some sets) is as easy to crack, grade, wait 6-8 months, and profit as wotc 1st was a few years back.

Nobody jumped on this when I noted the rare psa 10 as $500, now everyone wishes they can buy it at $1500 ea lol

where is anyone getting $1500 on a PSA 10 for the Base throwback zord? we talking the staff prerelease from the kit, or the holo from the box? maybe i’m not looking in the right places but i’m not seeing $1500 range for anything but the staff prerelease card in a PSA 10. and that doesn’t come from the Evolutions booster that is going for around $120.
Just did a quick ebay check and this one sold on June 26th for $1200, reduced from a BIN of 1500.

Also, I’ve seen some info out there that the later print runs were higher quality than the initial run.
I’ve recently opened 2 booster boxes of evolutions and pulled one holo zard and one reverse holo zard. Both would be lucky to get 9’s. The print quality of the entire set in general is just bad in my experience and the zard’s holos usually have obvious print lines.

i sold that 1200 zard. i was getting many offers north of 1000. i’ve been getting some near 1000 offers on the other PSA 10 evolutions holos listed on ebay. i think people are beginning to realize the difficulty and are willing to pay up big time…

I bought that $800 one. I didn’t let the listing last that long and pulled the trigger. I had an open buy thread on E4 at the time for $800 shipped and had no bites, so that felt like my last chance haha! Now the price has gone way beyond.

it does seem like the holos aren’t as popular to grade. hopefully with the PSA 10 price uptick, more people will send in their evolutions holo cards to grade and help the pop report. i also think the new generation prefers the EX and full art cards, just looking at the pop report.

Like not once in Pokemon history, has the value of a booster box not skyrocketed all because there was a hard to grade card in it. Hard to grade or not, just one single card can get you $1,500 in a $100 box set, people are buying that. Period. For your question, I think the reason the boxes are low in price because there are still so many of them on the market and still on store shelves (at least in my neighborhood although I believe they just stopped printing). As time goes by youll see them steadily increase and adjust like the just started doing recently. And investment wise, its literally and actually the definition of a steal in all aspects of the word. So in general I dont mind that theyre selling still at around $100 thats free money and what I call, again, a win win situation!

I believe the cost of a PSA 9 Holo Zard was only like $28 at that time though. It’ll be interesting to see how that comparison plays out in the coming years. Also, Ludkins needs to start writing more articles like that again. YEAH I SAID IT.

I just finished opening another box of Evolutions and I cant believe how rough some of these cards are straight from the pack. There wasnt a single gradeable (9-10) card in the entire box. The base zard and Mega zard I packed were probably 6 or 7’s. This has been my 3rd box and the last 2 have had similar condition issues. Is this the norm with Evolutions?
