Evolution Lines w/ same artist

Looking for evolution lines with the same artist to put into a pokedex collection. I know 151 had a lot but am looking for more.
I’ve seen the Narative Illustrations and Combined Illustrations lists but wondering if people know ones that aren’t on them like these Tentacool and Tentacruel cards.

Good news: theres plenty of examples like this to collect
Bad news: there are easily hundres of examples of this (especially if you count early WOTC Sugimori art)

I absolutely love same artist evo lines, they are some of my favorite nuggets in the hobby. I’m not aware of any concrete list, I’d guess someone else on here probably does. But a good start would be narrowing down sets or eras your’e most interested in and ordering the cards based on pokedex number like you can on this page and look for similar art styles (does get tricky with cross-gen evo lines like slowpoke’s) EX Deoxys card list (International TCG) – TCG Collector

Picking even a top 20 might be torture for me so I’ll just throw out a couple that come to mind

Also, welcome to E4 and a great topic to open with!

Using this as an excuse to look through my sets lol. I won’t post pictures because there’s too many.

Expedition

Gastly line
Pikachu line

Aquapolis

Growlithe line
Exeggcute line
Slowpoke line
Scyther line
Tentacool line

Skyridge

Gastly line
Staryu line
Diglett line
Voltorb line

ex Legend Maker

Sentret line
Voltorb line

Platinum

Chimchar line
Wurmple (ex Legend Maker) + Cascoon & Dustox

Noble Victories

Pansear line

Boundaries Crossed

Tepig line
Psyduck line
Snivy line
Oshawott line

These are just for sets I’ve looked through. You could easily piece together cards from different sets/eras, like Gligar (Legends Awakened) with Gliscor (Boundaries Crossed). You’re probably going to struggle with newer Gen mons because there are so many artists now.

Expedition has a lot. Some as examples, in addition to the ones mentioned above: Pidgey line, Poliwag line, Machop line, Dratini line, Abra line, Krabby line, Koffing line, etc. The Hoppip line also has the same artist in Neo Genesis, Aquapolis, EX Team Rocket Returns, and HGSS (off the top of my head). These are just some from things I collect, so they were relatively easy to recollect.

This is a super fun idea for a binder project and I think there are a lot of cards to choose from! I wonder how much of the pokedex you could complete like this

Since I am a huge fan of gen 3, I’ll have to put these here:

The treecko line is so beautiful - I feel like it has the best art of each species except for maybe treecko gold star or treecko from ex dragon. (The sceptile is incredible imo)

There’s also options in terms of combining generations, layouts, holo-effects, typings, stamps, gimmicks etc. Sometimes there’s more than one illustration to choose from. A few examples:

I was about to start a new topic about the same concept, but I’m glad I found an existing thread.

Here’s my pick for a line by the same artist in a single set. For the Caterpie line here I appreciate how it depicts National Park from HGSS. Caterpie begins crawling in the middle of the field. Metapod is then stood up against a lamp post. Finally, Butterfree is seen flying among the lights atop the lamp posts at night. It captures the passage of time well, a central theme to the Caterpie line and obviously Pokemon in general. Komiya’s style elevates the cards even more.

Next up here’s a line done by the same artist across different sets. Hajime Kusajima does the Elektrike line justice in these cards. Both Pokemon are shown covered in electricity and feel dangerous. The Manectric in particular is one of my favorite cards from EX Deoxys.
