English and Japanese Booster Pack Arts

Hi all

Just for kicks and a reference for anyone interested in collecting, I collated all the Japanese and English Pokémon booster pack arts over the last 26 years into 2 pdf files on Google Drive. With the new E4 update, I’ve also added a gallery for both languages for easy scrolling. Enjoy!

Koala doing gods work!
Thanks for getting this done for us and the pokemon community!

Oh wow. I’ve actually been looking for a resource like this for the longest time. Thank you so much for putting your time and effort into these 2 collages, they look awesome! Best 87 MB I’ve downloaded in a very long time!

I was looking for this info thank you!

Amazing job, @koala . They look great all together like that. And well done on also adding the mini sets in the Japanese list, like Lost Link and the Shiny Collection and such.

Only things missing that I see (unless I’ve looked past them, which is possible):

And some others you’ve probably left out on purpose, but I thought I’d mention anyway:

  • Red Logo Fossil/Jungle packs in the English list (although I can understand if you’ve left these out on purpose, since it’s about the pack art mostly of course)
  • Japanese Pokémon Web pack (these are transparent packs with an insert, so there isn’t really a pack art to enjoy)
  • Japanese Sample Set pack (Ney York Press Conference pack)
  • English Sample Set pack (English E3 2002 pack)

Greetz,
Quuador

@quuador,

I’ve just added them, generally sample set packs would be for whole other category of sample/sampling packs but because I haven’t seen them in other posts yet I thought it’s worth including. As for Pokémon Web, like you said, the pack is transparent and holds no actual art so I left it out.

I also saw an old post that has excellent coverage of sampling packs and dollar tree packs so I’ll share it here as well:

Thanks for making these - great to be able to look through and be able to appreciate them all, particularly the evolution in styles as time goes on.

I had also been wondering for a while if Psyduck had featured on any pack art I wasn’t aware of; this was a pleasingly simple way of confirming that it hadn’t (unless I’ve missed a small cameo somewhere). Seems surprising to me that in 25 years it hasn’t occurred!

awesome resource, thanks! Sent you a PM @koala

This is fantastic, thank you for putting this together!

Can I be a complete pain in the ass though: would you be willing to do the same showing the backs of each of the packs? I know Pichu and Aipom appear on the back of Japan’s Neo Genesis packs, but I only know that because somebody messaged me about it once - otherwise I’d have no idea. I’d love to see what other Pokémon are hiding in the shadows.

This might be very pointless though, I know that most of the other early Japanese packs don’t have any Pokémon on the back and I’m not sure if Neo Genesis is just an outlier here.

I’ve just updated the pack lists. The most recent additions are from the upcoming sets: Battle Styles (English), s5I Single Strike Master & s5R Rapid Strike Master (Japanese)

Upon @pichufan 's request, I included the backs of Japanese booster packs from Expansion Pack (base) to Pokémon VS (water/fire), in chronological order, at the end of the pdf.

Enjoy!

Sent, I did this to keep track since the files are from my Google Drive

You might have left this out on purpose as well, since it really was just a package designed to contain several booster packs, but the Lizardon Mega Battle pack is pretty cool.
