List of All Pokemon TCG Booster Pack Cameos

Hello everyone,

To complement my TCG cameo guide, I wanted to create a Booster Pack Cameo guide. This guide includes all packs for both English and Japanese. I will try my best to update it as new booster packs are released. Making this guide made me notice a lot of cameos appearing in pack art that I never even noticed before, so hopefully this well help you guys as well! If you find any errors feel free to either message me or comment down below and I will correct them.

If you are looking for a specific Pokemon, press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and then type in the name of the Pokemon that you are looking for.

Just for fun I created a script that counts the frequency of each cameo across all packs, which can be found at the very bottom of this article.

Special thanks to @koala for their English and Japanese Booster Pack Arts guide which made it much easier for me to find photos of each pack.

Happy collecting

Superb!!!

A couple of bits related to the Marill line I noticed:

This pack features ya boi Azurill not Marill

Also I’m not sure if you’re including English ‘Fun’ booster packs as there are a few more cameos that could be added!

Great thread! Thanks for making it.

Also, I agree with @TheMarillFoundation that it would be cool to add the Sample and Three Dollar packs, since those have a lot of cameos as well. Here is a thread of that from 2016: Sample Packs and Dollar Tree Packs (Guide + Gallery), but most of the SM and SwSh era packs are missing.

PS: Seeing this thread reminds me that we should really create a Japanese counterpart of your TCG artwork cameos thread.

Excellent list, thank you for great work again! It might be a stretch but have you considered adding also the pokemon that happen to be on back of the booster, not sure how many of those there are but i remember seeing at least a pichu as a “hidden” pokemon on back of a i believe neo booster

Great job as always, @JoshsOddCollection!

@TheMarillFoundation @quuador Thank you! I just updated the post to include the Sampling/Fun packs and will add Dollar Tree packs soon :innocent:

Also Quua, I plan to make a Japanese Cameo guide as well, there are just so many cards that it takes forever :skull:

I didn’t even know that the packs had Pokemon on the back of them  Time to look up pictures of every pack back and add them. Thanks for the heads up

I finally finished
It was a HUGE pain in the butt to try to track down images of the backs, I ended up watching quite a few 10+ year old YouTube videos of 5 year olds opening packs in 144p to try to see if there were Pokemon on the back of them :face_exhaling: But it’s finally done. Hopefully you enjoy the results!

P.S. There are two boosters with Muk on the back and zero with Grimer on the back

I’ve said it earlier and i’ll say it again, your dedication is incredible! Couldn’t think for sure if there even was video/photo material for all the packs and here we are now. Also, damn you and extending my wants list :joy: i think i have to settle for empty boosters this time, hopefully i can find some booster/booster box openings where one would be willing to sell the empty pack, especially the rocket gang strickes back booster made my eyes wide open just after waking up. And i hadn’t even noticed even the english team rocket pack has muk on it which feels crazy!

I feel your pain
This exercise also showed me how many packs contain Oddish, and I never even thought to check if Oddish was on any packs :skull_and_crossbones: I assumed it wouldn’t be because it’s not popular but here we are

But still only 3 and only old one is that jungle pack so definitely doable! I also started to change my mind about the empty/unopened packs but let’s see how that ends up being  especially that rocket gang strikes back booster terrifies me but i could add it to my infamous long term goal list that freaks me out a bit

And I also assumed that grimer and muk wouldn’t exist in packs for same reason, but i guess those team rocket packs are very fitting for them. I guess this can give me a reason to preserve again another piece of pokemon tcg history and all those packs would look great on display.

In my heart I knew the truth, but I still had to check
