ebay item paid - and not shipped

Hey guys,

Very quick question for you: I purchased an item on ebay, paid immediately via PP but the seller just doesn´t ship it nor answers my question what´s going on. Should I just “Return this item” or click “I didn´t receive” ?

Thank you!

How long has it been since you paid for it?

Depending on your answer to the above, “I didn’t receive” is the way to go.

Some sellers are genuinely disorganised and he may have shipped it but not updated your order on eBay. If it’s been over a week since his dispatch by date, send him one more message saying you’re opening up an “item not received” case in the next 24 hours. Once you do that, eBay will step in and refund you if he hasn’t sent it.

Good luck!

“Item not received” when the waiting period elapses. Mention in the notes to eBay that you’ve paid, messaged the seller, and he hasn’t responded to messages nor dispatched the item yet. Think you have to wait 10 days for the seller to provide a response, but if he doesn’t respond by the end of that period, you are refunded.

Thank you! Around 10 days, he is a powerseller with 50k feedback so I´m not really sure what´s going on there.
Edit: I also should add that this is a multiple thousand dollar item, which makes it seem even more strange to me.

That is weird! I had a similar situation recently with a seller I buy from regularly. Turns out she fell ill and ended up in hospital for a while. Sometimes life gets in the way so it’s always nice to give someone the benefit of the doubt. It sounds like you’ve waited long enough though.

I hope you get your item (or your money back)!

I always give the seller the benefit of the doubt and do not challenge the story they give me, since I know I’ll get my money back. But the amount of times I’ve bought from someone who couldn’t get the item posted due to work, then they ended up in hospital, then the day after eBay refunded me they messaged me to inform me they’d been in hospital but they managed to send the item anyway, and “if it arrives I can keep it…” IF the item arrives? Did anyone ever post something off and think, “IF this item arrives at its destination”? I suppose the lesson is not to sell items to me since you have a disproportionate chance of ending up in hospital from the moment I pay to your miraculous recovery the day eBay returns my money…

This sounds like a wowlootsellers situation. Not him is it? Haha.

Nope, it’s a pretty weird shop that sells sports items like clubs and a few miscellaneous trading cards/sports cards - but could definitely be wowloot haha
