eBay hypothetical sale going south

I was curious if anyone has ever had this happen or how someone would go about dealing with it:

Seller sells a old school WOTC pack that contains no holo, could be a weighed pack that seller never described in the description and buyer purchases for normal market value.

Buyer finds nothing of value, then creates a eBay case describing purchase is not according to description/fake counterfeit. Buyer goes out of their way to even take a picture with random cards to ‘claim’ they had just opened it.

Is there anything a Seller could do when they sold real packs to confirm they were real?

Something like this always deterred me from putting money into 1st edition base packs as they are almost guaranteed weighed, I figured if a buyer took a chance and opened it, they could just fill the pack up with unlimited cards and claim it was fake.

Realistically there’s not a lot you can do as a seller other than blocking the buyer from making future purchases. In very rare cases, whether there’s a possibility that ebay sides with the seller depends on the exact claim that the buyer made. For instance, once the buyer makes a statement that ebay can verify as false, or clearly alters or changes the facts of a claim, the buyer could be refused a return. Remember that Ebay does not have the ability to verify card authenticity, so any evidence with regards to the cards or the pack is irrelevant. If a falsehood from the buyer is established the seller could possibly win the case. Outside of these instances there’s no purpose in persisting towards a resolution that’s in your favor, and it’s best to move on.

A couple months ago i bought 3 ‘‘heavy’’ spanish 1st Ed boosters; only 1 of them turned out to be actually heavy, contacted the seller before eBay and told him what happened, he refunded me for the 2 non-heavy ones and i sent the packs back to him (opened).
