eBay Garbage

GOLD STAR!

I can rant here, right? haha.

Just a general derpy issue, not any particular seller (there are many). They put signatures required on a package that is $30, $40… Now I HAVE to take time and wait in line to sign for the damn thing…

For new sellers, if you’re here. I understand that you don’t want it to be lost, however, I encourage you to take the chance and just let it fly. Try to expand your non-insurance value, but if it’s below $40, for sure, just send it and forget about it. (Just make sure you packaged it well, but if you’re already worried, probably a non-issue.

Haha, this exact thing happened to me yesterday. Down to the post office to pick up a 10 gram envelope. Granted, it was worth $130 or so, but I’d still be happy with getting it in my mailbox.

Putting insurance on any card under $100 is a complete waste of money. If losing the $100 would set you back that far, then it is worth it to take a chance and try to keep that extra $5 it costs for insurance/signature.

I had to sign for an $8 card from TCG player once. The seller literally spent more on shipping than they got for the card after fees

I had a seller overnight a $10 card to me instead of taking a neg on ebay (didn’t ship for 2 weeks).

I just wanted him to ship me my card. I didn’t need it overnighted. That was all him.

Indeed. It’s a lesson that is good to learn, and the sooner the better. BUT I remember as a new seller I was hesitant to take the risk… Ya just gotta jump in the pool sometimes! haha. I’m that impatient person who’ll want to push you in.

Less of an ebay rant, more of a postage rant.

Royal Mail (UK’s main postal service, for any non-uk people) have managed to lose every single parcel I sent out on the 3rd. Have had to process 22 refunds/replacements so far and my ‘late arrival’ percentage went from like 0.10% to 3% so I don’t even get top rated seller anymore. RM refusing to take responsibility too and won’t even refund me postage costs, I think *they* think im committing fraud or something by claiming so many parcels lost at once

Another eBay scammer. Looks like they hacked this account as well. Not sure how to report it.

Looks like it’s already fixed.

Was this all tracked?

Not sure how relevant this is to the thread, but I was in the market for a 1st Edition Kadabra and I was pretty shocked how rough this PSA 9 example was and I think it weighs the importance of buying the card and not necessarily the grade at times. I trust PSAs grading for 99% of my Pokemon purchases but I was surprised no one took notice of the corners and edges on this one:

Anyway, thankfully I didn’t bid on it but got a much nicer PSA 9 copy for half the money this one ended up going for. Just wanted to share as a friendly reminder to take a closer look at some of the pics, especially on a computer instead of tiny screen on a smartphone.

*This is 100% illegal* But dictionary attacks are very affective in breaking passwords. everyone should have MFA/2FA on their stuffs.
Edit* In case anyone reads this and takes it as advice: Not all passwords are created equal. So, dict. attacks can be mitigated with strong passwords: non-regular phrases and words.

I hope this whole thing works out in your favor, but jesus!
I had this happen to me with USPS once. though it was only about a half dozen plain envelope shipments. Because of that, I never send large amounts at once. I always spread them over different pickup times or locations.

maybe I’m being blind or dumb or a combination of both,
but what are the issues with the corners and edges?
wouldn’t PSA, professional graders know better than non-PSA grader employees?
I’m not understanding, is the card corners and edges in question make it not worthy of a 9 rating?

In my opinion from looking at 100s of examples and owning many PSA 9 graded cards, those corners and edges have excessive whitening for the 9 grade. Like I said it’s most likely a mistake by PSA but I would feel bad selling that card and as a buyer I would feel bad not taking that damage into account expecting it to be a Mint example. It looks like a misgrade to me and it shows the importance of always looking at eBay pictures closely before bidding/buying a graded card.

but (and this will come across rude but trust me I am not intended of disrespecting you) PSA are trained graders,
you are not.
so why would you assume that your rating would hold more ‘truthfulness’ to it than that of the Grader who gave that a 9?
I don’t understand that.

yeah i’d expect that to be somewhere between a 6-8 even given the nice condition of the front, but those aren’t just chips on a few corners on the back, but wear. i’d give it a 7 myself.

PSA misgrades cards, and there is a condition standard for a psa 9. A psa 9 shouldn’t have that much whitening, or a crease, dent, etc

Unfortunately not, I only do tracked for things that are £15~ or if the person has really low feedback. I’ve had them send me a 6 pack of stamps in the past to make up for 1 lost parcel, so I’m hoping they do something similar here and send me endless postage stamps
