I don’t understand why or how it’s “German”, because it looks like it was in Hamburg during the allied fire bombing?

Looks like it endured a nuclear blast

Teraz this is the best one I’ve seen in a while haha. But I also just wanted to say I’ve seen the most shill bidding ever lately. Ebay is getting overrun by scammers trying to legitimize their scammery. Really bumming me out. Luckily it’s largely only for Charizard and I suppose the 3 starters for base set. If it were happening to all my beloved pokemon I might just die of a broken heart.

See here we go, look at bid history if you find this link still live. Clear shill bidding going on. Insane.

Newbie here trying to figure how how to tell real eBay listingz from fake. Could you explain more? Also what’s the benefit of fake sellers creating these, if someone actually buys it won’t they just get a refund because the seller either won’t have the card or it’ll be fake? Or is it to raise the price of the market in general

Also if a fake seller wins their own bid aren’t they paying fees on it

There are a lot of reasons. The “proxy” (a loathsome euphemism) cards are flooding ebay. Someone made them on etsy or something. These people are trying to prey on the ignorant. It’s like spam phone calls. Worth their time. If even 1 in 100 people fall for something it is worth their time.

Those proxy cards are very bad fakes and easy to tell. For one they don’t even have a holo. It is just made to look holo. That’s as easy as it gets.

They are hoping the one person who buys it doesn’t return or know their rights or something of that nature. There’s also scams regarding global shipping exploitation of the 30 return policy–there’s many ways. They don’t pay fees if they and a different friend’s account collude to shill bid, and the friend wins. Then they just cancel for full refund.

I don’t really mind if there’s not a condition description in the listing to begin with (although I certainly prefer that, since it adds some context to the photos). I’m more griping about people who, when asked specifically to provide some subjective details on condition, won’t do it and instead say to “refer to the photos.”

No whitening on the back.

The sleeve looks solidly NM to me. Possibly gradable?

I concur, Though with the sleeve being off centered we’re looking at a possible 8.

Noticed the sports and sneakers flippers start posting massive buy outs on theme decks lmao on the FB Groups… I guess they didn’t realise wholesale by case display boxes are still widely available (for now right the way this is going I wouldn’t be surprised if everything gets sold out). So I start searching cracked ice holos on eBay (because I, like Im sure many here, enjoy certain variants and limited promos released in limited sets, etc. Which brings me to this:

www.ebay.ca/itm/2016-Pokemon-XY-Mewtwo-Mewtu-Cracked-Ice-51-108-Holo-Evolutions-PSA-Mint-9/264206549522?hash=item3d83f00212:g:XPoAAOSwgqxfiJq9

*PSA 9 Mewtwo Cracked Ice EVO Theme Deck, this same seller had one “sell” the day before for that price… I call BS*

www.ebay.ca/itm/PSA-10-2016-Pokemon-XY-Cracked-Ice-Mewtwo-Holo-51-108-Gem-Mint-10-Rarest-Mewtwo/303732856026?hash=item46b7e394da:g:GsQAAOSwm0lfjUGi

*PSA 10 listed for 2,000$ USD*

POP Report:

51 total
30 PSA 9s
8 PSA 10s

And 100,000 pack fresh sleeved out there, 100,000 sealed in people’s collections and 100,000 still available for purchase globally…

Come on… how ridiculous is this going to get… it’s as if everyone woke up and figured out the simple formula of manipulating a market and creating synthetic demand for almost anything at this point…
