Ebay buyer claiming 1st edition pack I sold him is tampered

Yeah it does seem the buyer is always right with ebay. He was somehow automatically refunded a few days before the package arrived, which I still do not understand. That is when I was able to get the U.S. rep on the phone who could not tell me why it was refunded either. He told me the buyer should not have been refunded before the package arrived and it was a “glitch” in the system. Which is why the case was supposed to be reversed after they closed it prematurely. Whatever the reason, it just sucks. But hey, shit happens.

What is the buyers ID? We always tell each other of scammers so we all can block him.

The buyer is marcdonvit-0

That’s a zero at the end. Definitely avoid that guy.

I’m confused. Is Mrbulldops and shadowless89 the same person?

Yeah kind of tired of that bullshit zero at the end cliche. I have a zero at the end have done over a thousand sales, almost 500 positive feedback, zero negative, and always bend over backward for my customers so let’s stop. Sold to a lot of zeros too and bought from a few and never any problems.

I think he clarified that it was a 0 at the end so everyone wouldn’t block a capital 0, but I could be wrong.

haha yeah, I think he was just clarifying - as it could easily have been either an o or a zero. I’ve never heard of that cliche actually

Sadly this is the flaw of ebay/paypal and the risk you take selling on Ebay. But I am sure you had a lot of great transactions prior to this so in the end it evens out. You get the mass exposure from Ebay but it comes at a risk as some bad apples take advantage of the system.

What in the world are you talking about Cincy?

You are exactly right and I wish I would have looked at it that way from the very beginning. It was a bad experience but Ebay has also saved my butt countless times when I had no other source of income. I’ve also made a lot of good relationships with people in the pokemon community there, it’s been worth it.

That came off the wrong way. I was just clarifying. I agree about users with zero feedback. Every single one of us were there at one time.

I was up all night and grumpy, my bad. Never text on no sleep.

The ______-0 is one of those automatically generated suggested usernames given by ebay. That’s why it tends to be associated with new accounts/bot generated scam accounts. Just thought some clarification was needed.

yeah, tough pill to swallow, so did you get your pack back intact?

I certainly may have said some things out of frustration although I still hold the same opinion. The buyer somehow convinced ebay to refund him and let him keep the pack. I had to appeal to a higher power and in the end received my money.

i’ve seen information about how card pack tampering can work, some videos on youtube and a few articles and its mostly about how well you can seal it back up and i personally can not see any kind of imperfection in any of those photos that look like its been opened and resealed or even had the flappy bit moved.
if you still have reciepts, photos, messages or anything that shows you’ve owned them for a long time legitimately he might back off if they genuinely think its been tampered with.
otherwise they might be trying to set you up for tampering after they’ve just opened and resealed it.
maybe they just can’t afford it and want their money back.

Ya, this is the sad side of Ebay.
Block the buyer (if you feel like they are being untruthful)
You could always try to sell on other sites or Facebook groups?
Sorry that this happened to you.
