Ebay booster box scams?

If you go look at the recent sold listings for booster boxes like jungle/fossil/etc, you’ll see several sold for like 700 from sellers with 0 feedback. I actually saw one from a seller with -1 feedback, the buyers comments said something to the effect of no communication from seller and no shipment of product.

dont get scammed. also, a 1st ed jungle box just sold for 20k.

Not entirely sure, but I believe they price them under a certain threshold perhaps related to certain nuances in eBay’s policy. Then if you look, they are usually from another country.

What they do is exploit the eBay buyer protection time table by utilizing the long international shipping times.

What I mean is, there are only something like 30 days you as the buyer have to mark an item not received or as described claim.

So these scammers will ship at the last possible moment, and then with how variable international ship time can take, eBay won’t raise an eyebrow even when it’s been 3 weeks since marked as ship.

By the time the unsuspecting buyer has decided even x amount of time is too long for international shipping, it’s too late for eBay to refund.

It’s something like that and I think for this to work it has to be under $800 maybe? That’s why you always see obvious scam listings around $700

Wow was the 20k 1st ed jungle confirmed?

yes but thankfully paypal has something like a 180 day policy to make a claim. people suck and its a shame they’re preying on others.

also the 20k sale is there in sold listings. no slashy line so i presume it sold for the listed price.

Sellers can send offers to buyers and the price won’t be slashed out – even if the offer accepted was significantly less than the asking price.
