Ebay Auction Predicament - To pay or not? Misleading pic?

@hypernova @pkmnflyingmaster

I almost replied to his first message last night when he sent it. I was going to apologise again and offer him the money without the need to exchange the pictures and also an explanation as to how the picture came off a deceitful, whether he wanted it or not. But, I reread his message several times and it just sounded like he never wanted to hear from me again, so I deleted my message and decided to just leave it alone.

I woke up to find the new message and felt the need to call him out on it. I’m fully aware that he might actually own the card. I checked other listings (both current and sold) before replying and couldn’t find the same picture. I just said I wouldn’t be surprised if he ripped it from someone else because he’s clearly scummy enough to try and convince me that it’s the same card as in the listing.

I understand that I fucked up too. I guess I still have lots to learn about both the hobby and ebay. I’ll certainly be more thorough when looking through listings before committing to anything, especially when it comes to items I’m not too familiar with. My communication and decision making skills could probably use some work too.

Again, Thank you everyone for your input. I know I turned this into a bigger deal than it needed to be. Just one of the many joys of being me…

Self-reflection is a rare and commendable trait. You’ve certainly earned a lot of respect from me personally with this response.

Good job canceling the order.

That seller is a scumbag. Although he is right to be upset, he’s still a dick.

The Mew Gold star is the main card…there is no reason to hide it…unless you are being shady. Youd have it front and centre stage in order to maximize profit from that listing. Not hide the best card there being loads of others.

I call shenanigans
