It’s almost a rule instead of an exception that all great looking Gardevoir cards include flower meadow or forest grove, especially EX Power Keepers + Secret Wonders holos and Paldean Fates shiny SAR.
I love this line!! So many amazing options for flower/garden artwork.
Ive never heard of this comparison before between Gardevoir and Alakazam lol. I googled it quickly and lots of people have mentioned the comparison so it’s probably just because I am a bit of a late comer to Pokemon haha. It’s a bit bizarre though because in my mind they are totally different!
And Mega Gardevoir just put on a hoop skirt or petticoat combo to make it poofy hence the mega transformation lol.
If you’re curious, here are some videos to display how dramatic dresses can get (and yes for those wondering, a large portion of my algorithm is vintage, historical and fantasy fashion/cosplayers, aka various pretty dresses lol. I cant tell quite when it started, but I’m not complaining!)
dress examples
•scarlett.o.hair Part 1 without hoop skirt and Part 2 with hoop skirt
• astra.darling Part 1 without hoop skirt and Part 2 with hoop skirt
The relationship is much more noticeable in older generations. They play the same role in the games as a humanoid, popular, mechanically good Psychic type that a lot of people have used to beat the game with. They’re available at roughly the same time, they learn many of the same moves, they have similar stat distributions, they’re both used by rivals, they’re both 3-stage families, they used to be the exact same type. They both get a lot of attention (the Alakazam line less so in the TCG due to the whole Kadabra debacle but nonetheless.)
Within the economy of a Pokedex, they have mirroring roles.
Oh, that’s neat! Thanks for sharing, I can see how the comparison makes more sense now with that context in the games!
last call to get your votes in!
i know these are getting tiring to keep up with. I promise next week’s poll will have significantly less options
Well this is the thread I need to participate in. All in on the SV era SARs, but also a fan of Gardy and the doctor.
Not at all tiring, these are very enjoyable and i’m sure a lot of us appreciate that you keep on doing them
This time i can fully live with top 10, beautiful cards all over the place! Nice to see that even Hataya ralts got the appreciation it deserved. One thing i’m slightly surprised about is that Kusajima kirlia was so low compared to ralts, nevertheless that ralts is arguably a lot better art but kirlia isn’t bad either. i do have to admit too that i almost removed my vote from shiny sar gardevoir to increase Kusajima ralts’s odds of winning
