How this works:

"E4's Favorite" Polls - Archive

Overview Why I began doing these polls in December 2023 as a way to see how the community here ranks cards of various Pokemon or types of cards. Sometimes we may have an idea of what is #1, but what might round out the top 10? It’s hard to guess, and we always end up surprised in the end. It is also a great avenue to learn about new cards of Pokemon we may not have seen before. Beldum has almost as few bad cards as Metagross has good ones.

Random assortment of thoughts:

• I feel like Metang is one of those mons that has constant “I don’t know what to do with this” syndrome
• Arita’s promo Metang is far away my favorite Metang; I’m a massive sucker for open plains type arts
• I also think that psychic type cards clash colorwise with the line. Rebecca’s Metagross is the worst offender with the blue/orange/purple; I think I’d like it a lot more if it were a metal card
• I really like the style of the TOKIYA Undaunted set

These 3 are definitely my favorites, Tokiya killed it for this set.

He looks like a tarantula standing on it’s toes after it caught a bug.

Man, I really like Metagross, but that was… Gross.

This line is another banger. It nails all the points to make it stand out, progress in a sensible way, and the designs feel alive, yet also earthy and hard. Just a great evo chain and set of mons… though I wish Metang didn’t have a snowman nose.

We need more pseudo legendaries like Metagross which have nothing to do with dragon type or design, one of the biggest wishes for gen 10 ( well besides finally seeing legitimate Water/Ground Pokemon with Sap Sipper ability ).

Metagross is one of my favourite Pokémon of all time, and I always try to have one on my team.

I do not collect Metagross cards.

These were exactly my thoughts too, it’s weird that the most simple design has the best cards by mile. I would love more metagross cards and i hope some of the outstanding new artists get to try their hands with it. I also agree with @holoshedinja that the Tokiya line absolutely takes the whole top 3

Metagross is such a cool Pokemon, its a real shame that all the cards are just terrible. More good Beldum ones than I was expecting.

It’s always hit or miss typically with pseudo legendaries, +1 for Tokiya’s Undaunted set, especially that Metagross that looks like its using earthquake.
