it’s not so much the metagross that does it for me. i just really like the overall illustration. probably a top 5 delta species card for me

ok fine I will explain it because you asked 
Metagross is my 2nd favorite pokemon (above wailord and kyogre even!) It was always so cool to me to see a physical psychic type. I feel like the arts either get that or they dont. I understand that the little extension connected to the body is supposed to be thin but just feels wrong to me. Thats why the Undaunted and Rebecca’s Metagross feel extra cool! They feel “heavy” almost. More tank-like. Even the gold star I am iffy on. I dont think he should be flying around like that even if thats what happens in the anime

This is the only Metagross I almost take seriously. It’s not particularly good.
I want to like the Gold Star but I don’t like flying saucer mode either.

fwiw, seems like metagross is widely liked across at least who voted, now tied with your favorite starter

These are some of my favourites. I like the behemoth / tank depiction of Metagross. I like that Metang is speedy and Metagross is just a massive tank. I also enjoy the Mega design and was surprised to see it go so lower compared to the design of Metagross.
