Thanks niece! I agree, it’s always more fun and meaningful when I get to gift a yarn project. ![]()
Absolutely great work! The little mini hat is adorable. Were the ears made by sewing two flat circles together? I like to try to deconstruct crochet works in my head if I can, but can get tripped up if it’s a technique/stitch I’m not familiar with.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks @bbobrob! You’re right, I made a total of 4 circles and stitched the pairs together to have the right shape for each ear. I had to get creative with front loop or back loop stitches to get the spirals in the right direction on ears.

Ah right, the reverse side would have to be done differently. Thanks for confirming!
a mini slowqueen prototype hat exists
This has rattled me to the bone. What a revelation! May we see it placed on top of an apple or a stuffed animal perhaps? That would be fun i don’t know. This was a cool gift. If I ever saw it irl It would be a serious where’s waldo moment.
It will become easy to identify me in real life, because for the past three days I have only taken this hat off to sleep and shower ![]()
I truly can’t remember the last time I loved a wearable object this much, thank you again @HaiRai for the boundless joy
Cool horse!
Love the style on the fire mane!
Did a trade with the bestie @aeyu for a card from her and art from me! Some of my favorite cards in my collection have been ones that I’ve traded for, whether that be art like this one or other cards.
This is a 2.5”x3.5” watercolor, exactly card sized and perfect for her binder! Her request was OBF Umbreon in my watercolor style, and I had so much fun with this one.
For the process, I always start out inking, then I slowly build up the colors layer by layer. It’s easiest for me to do this with a color wash (a very thin, transparent layer of color) over the whole thing, then shadows in that same color for coherence. Afterward, it’s just about layering and waiting for things to dry! At the end, I also use a bit of white pen for additional highlights.
Spectacular. Just a superb little piece. What was the card that you traded for if you don’t mind sharing? Thanks for sharing this piece.
Cheers!
omg this is stunning, the foliage especially feels so moonlit and ethereal. the blues and greens are just lovely ![]()
Thank you so much, that means a ton! I traded Aeyu for the traditional Chinese Dawn SR (below, not my photo)- it’s currently on the way to the first of two middlemen, and I’m so excited to have yet another lovely story for the binder.
I appreciate it, thank you!! My favorite kind of pieces are dreamy, ethereal ones with a range of blue and greens- they’re so much fun to paint! Water with various greenery is always a pleasure especially!
Beautiful rendition of the Rika art! This whole time I thought your art was digital watercolor since it’s so clean
Were your Politoed Shkishi and Dragonite pieces analog art too?
Your style on the Dragonite art was really cool BTW, as someone who has a good amount of dislike for Dragonite you made it actually look good
Absolutely beautiful! I’ve been very much enjoying your recent watercolor pieces
I hope to dabble a little more with watercolor if I find time, so seeing the layering process is really useful and neat!
Thank you so much! I also do digital work, like my profile picture here and some other pieces I’ve posted, but I bounce back and forth between many traditional mediums as well- mostly watercolor and ink.
Yes, they were both traditional! The politoed shikishi was entirely inkwork, and the dragonite was watercolor and ink.
I appreciate the compliment, thank you for that as well! I’ve always had a special place in my heart for special delivery/messenger dragonite, and I thought it fit the theme well this year.
Thank you too! Watercolor is a very fun medium for me- it’s a lot more loose and a lot less rigid than others I work in, and that makes it very relaxing for me (when I’m not waiting impatiently for paint to dry). The build up of layers over time is also satisfying for me as well. Best of luck with your own pieces, I hope you find the time to enjoy it!
Maybe a plushy: Eevee, Pikachu or Slowpoke itself?
Beautiful binder!
How sturdy is the mod podge on a soft surface?
Just fantastic @citriina . You style has so much depth and great mood. I really enjoy it.
aw thank you! i think it’ll take a few more weeks to fully set but it seems pretty sturdy to me so far
