I’m aware that you keep the same cert number but was wondering if they give you a new label at least?
I’m asking this because one of my labels is creased and wrinkled looking and was hoping this would be fixed if I tried to re-case one day at PSA.

I sent 2 very old PSA graded cards in for to be re-cased and they got new labels with old certs. I’m not sure if you already had the newest style label if they would create a new one or not. Perhaps if it was creased and wrinkled like you mention they would.
Thank you for the reply! yeah this is an old cert with the old label as well so hopefully they should get a new label then.
Do they regrade the card though when doing this?
@firebirder31, I “think” it depends. They will look at the card for sure if you are recasing a cracked case just to make sure there is no damage. If the case is flawless and you just want a new case then there should be no concern, but I think they still may just give it a look to make sure it’s not a crazy misgrade.
If the case was flawless and you wanted to recase it, you would get compensated for a grade change “I think”. Someone more familiar with how the process works should comment though.
@joer, I believe you’re correct, if the case is cracked over the physical part of the card, then it will likely be submitted for review and re-graded. If you’re paying to have it re-slabbed and there is nothing wrong with the case, then there would be no reason to re-grade the card. I don’t think they specifically look out for an over-graded card and change it unless you ask them to review it.
