I thought about it when I saw them in stores, but I just think it won’t be as fun if nobody else collects them. Not to mention the video game has gone downhill and offers no nostalgia for me.
To be fair, most of the cards are quite lame, as they’re literally screenshots of the game itself (hi old Star Wars cards). Thank you for the input. Wonder if Fortnite will be nostalgic to the kids that are obsessed like Mario is for some of us?
Nah, I don’t really like card games that are released simply because the main franchise is successful. It will be interesting to see where it ends up in a couple of years.
I picked up a bunch of series 1 back when it came out because I saw a promotional e-mail from my distributor for it and was playing the game regularly at the time. I opened several boxes and had some fun with it, but no longer play the game and fell away from the cards even before I quit the game.
I didn’t see that series 2 was coming out ahead of time with all the craze around Pokemon but I don’t really have much motivation for it anyways given how busy I am with Pokemon and the fact that I am no longer playing the game.
There was a really weird thing that turned me off series 1 in that the most desired parallel foils weren’t even obtainable from the booster box, only some more obscure retail product. Information was hard to find on a lot of this and it doesn’t seem many are collecting it. A quick look at eBay completed listings for booster boxes though show a couple sold at high prices. I’ll have to take a look this weekend at what I actually have and see what it’s going for these days.
Actually last night I made a post on my instagram about the only Fortnite cards I ever got graded and the only shard foil (best parallel from series 1) I still own.
No lol I’m being serious. Pokemon and Magic are meant to be card games. I really don’t like when franchises release cards simply because they are a popular brand. What do cards have to do with a Battle Royale game lol.
