Do you think Tomokazu Komiya will have any IR or SIR cards in the 30th anniversary set?

Hi everyone, I’m noticing that Tomokazu Komiya hasn’t had any new cards in Ascended Heroes or Perfect Order, two consecutive sets :smiling_face_with_tear: . Do you think he’ll get any new IR cards, like the Drowzee, in the 3rd anniversary set? My dream is an SIR promo inside, like the anniversary UPC or ETB that would be totally awesome! :star_struck:

Given his prominence and impact on the tcg I’d be surprised if he didn’t, but any contributions are no doubt likely to receive the twentytwentyfive treatment. Then again, TPC might use it as an opportunity to introduce new/upcoming artists and pie him off, who knows. If he does contribute I’m just keeping my fingers crossed for nothing beyond Gen 3. Unless it’s LeChonk or Gholdengo.

Depends on how large the set is, what kind of themes it has and how many opportunities are given to the artists. Seniority in the tcg may grant it to the most obvious veteran candidates like Mitsuhiro Arita and Kouki Saitou, but the rest are competing with newer artists who have also risen to prominence in the last 10 years (e.g. kantaro, satoma, Oswaldo KATO, Ryota Murayama, Naoki Saito, Teeziro, OKACHEKE, HYOGONOSUKE, AKIRA EGAWA, etc). For the 25th Anniversary Collection, Komiya was able to contribute as one of the 25 artists in Pikachu V-UNION

Komiya has been doing fewer cards since SV. They have been doing a lot of their own art promotions and shows I think they will have something in the set, but think the big illustration will go to the new talents and OG like @koala mentioned

I’m of the view that Kanda will take over his style of art and squeeze out more and more. Maybe he’ll do some group card like the V-Union pikachu from the 25th?
