Do you still open vintage, and if so, show your pulls

Another thread by @lyleberr got me thinking. Do you still open vintage? Or have you stopped doing that a long time ago.

I actually opened two (yes, a whopping two) Neo Discovery packs today, and the results reminded me of why vintage was so much more fun to open. Did I really want a Hitmontop holo? No, but am I happy with it? Definitely.

I would if I could afford the prices of the packs.

Most recent rip was Australia 1999-2000

No, I can’t justify throwing the money away.

Weird thing is, it´s not nessecarily throwing it away. These packs aren´t going up that much in value, the holo´s are though.

Ehh

You should check out my thread. I’m literally opening one vintage pack per month and next is Neo discovery!

It’s about having fun when in a position to do so.

Well, to be fair, you´ll probably lose. But, when compared to modern, the odds are pretty good.

Let me put it this way. I paid about 700 for these packs. If the Hitmontop get´s a 10 (it won´t, I know, but it might), then I´m up. If it get´s a 9 (it´s pretty clean) and the Kabutops non holo rare that I also pulled get´s a 10, I´m still up.

If both of these cards receive 9´s, I still have 20 common/uncommon cards that have a shot at a 10.

I WISH… would love to smell that fresh card/pack smell again.

However, it’s just highly impractical for me when I would rather put the money towards knocking many cards off my collection goals.

If I WAS to do it? I kind of don’t like the decision of paying high for a guaranteed heavy or being resigned to what will almost surely be a weighed pack. I mean, it’s not all about the holos in WOTC when all cards are bangers regardless of rarity/value but I would want some value back given the outlay.
