Do you have a Pokemon name?

Gotta name 'em all!

The Japanese spelling of my first name is identical to that of the gym led by Katsura (aka “Blaine”).

And the Japanese spelling of my last name is (save for a diacritic on the first kana) identical
to that of the Pokemon otherwise known in English as “Growlithe.”

How about you? Do you share a name with any Pokemon people, places or things?

You mean this whole time I’ve been calling you Glenn when your name is actually Blaine Growlithe.

Here is an English to Japanese text translator. I found out there is a Scott in the game, looks nothing like me, but the text name is pretty cool! エニシダ

Heh, this whole thing doesn’t work so well in English. I’m too lazy to translate my name into Japanese, so I just typed my name into Bulbapedia.

I find it funny that this guy is ripped af, yet I’m a small, wimpy nerd. I also know that plenty of NPC trainers share my name. Not like it’s a rare name to be fair.

Gary… BOOM lol!

I remember in HeartGold and SoulSilver in the Sprout Tower there’s an NPC trainer named Sage Troy. Dunno why I remember that one specifically. I think there is also a Swimmer Troy, perhaps in Sinnoh?

I’m just an npc :slightly_frowning_face:

My name is Giancarlo >____> don’t think so unfortunately. Maybe when we have a game based in an Italian setting

I have no idea.

I don’t think my name Phonetically comes close to anything. Lol

Mine is actually REALLY accurate…

My Pokemon equivalent is this trainer named Madison who has red curly hair, blue eyes, and owns a Kecleon

IRL I have red curly hair, blue eyes, and a pet bearded dragon. (named Alfredo for anyone that was curious) The only difference is that she has a lot of cash. College me is the opposite of rich.

I do not care about Shroomish at all, but apparently my Pokemon counterpart is obsessed with them.

Alex (Japanese: アズマ Azuma) is a character of the day in Taming of the Shroomish.
Alex in his youth

When Alex was a little boy, he used to play with many Shroomish that shared a mansion with his grandfather. But as time went on, the forest around the mansion was being cut down to make way for buildings. Eventually, all the Shroomish left the mansion.

The city was planning on tearing down the mansion that Alex’s grandfather had lived in. But strange things have been happening. The workers complained of feeling sick from the mansion. Alex would occasionally check up things to see if anything strange would happen. One day, he happened to come across Ash and Max who were standing in the garden of the mansion. He asked what they were doing there and they said that a Shroomish jumped in the window. Alex didn’t believe them but decided to check it out anyway.

Inside the mansion, they all soon found the Shroomish that Max was taking care of. Alex was surprised that a Shroomish had come back to the mansion. Not only was this Shroomish living in the mansion but a large group of them as well. It turned out what was making all the workers sick was the Stun Spore from the Shroomish.

Eventually, Alex stopped the demolition of the mansion and decided to live in it with the Shroomish like he did when he was little.
Pokémon

My last name, Corona, turned out something way cooler:

Corona Mew, also known as Cyro Mew, Chrona Mew, Chrono Mew, Crono Mew and Cyber Mew, was a PokéGod. It was thought to be the evolved form of Mew.

Like many other Pokémon, Mew was thought to have another evolution. This led to the creation of Corona Mew. It is interesting to note, thought, that most people considered Mew to be a PokéGod and all others at least knew considered it a legendary Pokémon, which usually did not have any further evolutions even in the form of PokéGods. Mew’s split between Pokémon and PokéGod could have been the reason why it did receive this evolution.

he mainly circulated way to obtain Corona Mew was through the use of a Mist Stone.
