Do you even play the Pokemon games?

Wanna see how many of you played SWSH.

And if you did, did you play the DLC?

No, I play finished games.

I played it and enjoyed it. Think I spent about 80 hours. I have not gotten the DLC yet but I’d like to. I don’t have the time like I used to for games.

Yep, I bought it used from eBay for $30. Got the DLC but haven’t played Crown Tundra yet. Overall was a disappointment but I’m also glad I waited a year and didn’t pay full price for the base game

I’ve only played blue and tried a bit of the recent Switch remake. Never got around to SWSH. I remember getting Pkmn blue at a KB Toy Works and then my mom dropped me off at the hair dresser. I always hated waiting in the hair dresser for her to get back. I guess she would go do some shopping or whatever. It went by in the blink of an eye that day though.

Played em, think they are very good. The animation bothers me knowing that it wouldn’t be much more costly to do a lot more, but still think they are good and the new dlc is killer

SwSh was the first game I’ve played since Diamond/Pearl and it’s actually what got me back into the TCG this time around

I played the main game but was disappointed in the state of the game in many areas & what was happening between Game Freak and Nintendo, so I didn’t get the DLCs. Maybe I will when I have time around Christmas, since you can’t expect any future sales on Nintendo’s part anyway.

Games are great, been playing them since Sun and Moon released which was about 2-3 years before I picked up collecting cards again. I’ll say in the past 12 months I’ve gotten more into cards than games but looking forward to the DLCs soon over the holidays!

I’m good. I’m just gonna wait for gen 4 remakes.

Ive played every game. SwSh twice, no dlc although im sure i will get to it eventually

My first game ever was Yellow, but I was like 4 at the time and probably didn’t get past the 1st route. My first real adventure started in Pokemon Emerald in 3rd grade. From then I played Fire Red and Pearl, all while going back and playing the generation 1 and 2 games I had skipped over. I love generations 1-3 so much and it is always hard for me to choose a favorite. They each of different things I like about them, but I did spend a lot of time In generation 3 with Pokemon Emerald and Colosseum. Those two are probably my favorite games in the series.

I spent some time playing generation 5 games, and I appreciate that they wanted to have an interesting plot for once.

Generation 6 was just fine. nothing amazing but nothing offensively bad. The games did seem a little less interesting to me at this point.

In Generation 7 I really felt like Gamefreak’s only goal was to appease their biggest customer group - kids. I can’t blame them! They are a company at the end of the day. I just felt like the newer games weren’t really for me anymore.

After seeing seemingly the same hand holding and lack of effort by game freak in generation 8, i have lost hope that i’d be able to enjoy another new pokemon game developed by gamefreak. They are behind the times on so many things, and it seems like they have never cared less about making a quality game.

I think because i have had those feelings about modern day Pokemon games, i have wanted to collect Pokemon Cards more from the time when i played the games the most (gens 1-3). I want to chase those childhood feelings of Awe and Mystery when I saw an awesome Pokemon i had never seen before. It’s the same rush us collectors have when we find a really cool promo or artwork we have never seen before and we chase it until we find it.

TL;DR Generations 1-4 good, 5 alright, 6 meh, 7+8 lame.

I did! Loved playing Pokémon on the big screen and the open world concept was cool. I haven’t played the DLC yet but plan to.

Not in the past 15 years…

I played Pokemon Blue for many many many hours on a cross-country moving trip. Very difficult without one of those attachable GameBoy lights and an infinite supply of batteries, but it worked out!

I played Pokemon Yellow as well.

I remember walking around that damn truck a ton hoping to find a Mew.

I remember at one point having a friend lend me a GameShark which allowed me to get a Mew and see Missingno, cheats really do ruin games though :stuck_out_tongue:

I played the hellllllllllllll out of the GameBoy Pokemon TCG. I think I liked that game even more than the main games. Sadly in the middle of rural Nebraska there were not many leagues closeby to play the TCG in person.

The last time I ever played a Pokemon game was a few rounds of Pokemon Stadium on the N64 at a friend’s house.

Been playing the online TCG casually for a few years. Unfortunately its clunky trading system prevents me from engaging in a more meaningful way as I do with MTG or Hearthstone, but still good fun for casual play.

As soon as my newborn son is old enough to play I will 100% introduce him to Pokemon console games though, so will probably be spending a lot of time playing those with him. It’s all about creating those nostalgic memories.

I’ve played the games from every single generation including sword and shield. I have played the DLC as well.

Last main series game I played was White. However, I did buy a Switch earlier this year specifically to play the Mystery Dungeon remake. Mystery Dungeon > main series x1,000,000. Dunno why they didn’t remake Explorers of Sky rather than RRT/BRT, though.

Last one I played was silver, but I played it for like 7 years. Skipped right over like 2 generations lol

Beat the game and both DLCs. Crown Tundra was surprisingly fun.
