Hey all
Can someone please give me the run down on the difference between these 2 cards:
1 - 2000 Pokemon World Collection Birthday Pikachu Promo 24
This is the non holo version, but has the gold Pikachu tail stamp where the 1st edition stamp would be
AND
2 - 2000 Pokemon Birthday Pikachu Promo 24
This is the holo version, but has no symbol where the 1st Ed symbol would be
I just picked up 2x PSA 10 World Collection Birthday Pikachus without doing much research =P
The Wizards Black Star English version was available in a campaign where you were tasked with drawing your favourite card and sending it to WOTC, in return they’d send out the Birthday Pikachu card.
The Pikachu World version includes 8 other cards and still sells for around $60.
Hopefully you didn’t spend too much on the World 10’s as sellers will often mislead their buyers into thinking its the Black Star versions which are worth considerably more, relatively.
I’m curious as well what you bought the 2 10’s for. I had a bunch of world collections sealed and sold them all for between 55-80 dollars. The 80 was only one time though.
You can either click on the “Insert User Link” icon in the rich text field menu, or you could go to the profile and see the name you can use with @ between parenthesis. For Not Zelda Gilroy this would begaryis2000.
And you’ve already stated the difference yourself mainly. One is non-holo, has the golden Pikachu-tail stamp, and is part of the Pikachu World Collection from 2000 which was available in Australia. The other is holo and is the Black Star Promo, which was available through a mail campaign where people could send in a picture of their favorite card and would receive a Birthday Pikachu promo in return.
