NOW GARINSON!!! IF YOU HEAR THIS GIRLSTONS STORY!!! WILL SEE IF YOU THINK THERE IS NO MEMORIES OF THE NO RARITIES!!! It was the greatest one i heard lol.
Glenn’s word is all you need. If you want video on everything to believe it then it’s time to examine why.
That is unless you were kidding because we all know he is 100% reputable.
In all seriousness, thank you Maron!
For the 1st official(true) opening of No Rarity Base Set cards on camera! From wrapper seal break to contents out of the box, never left camera. That’s what you call true evidence and documentation.
The name is Glenn, with two n’s, and plenty of people have seen what I “claim” I have. Back in the day, several major media operations — including the BBC — did stories on my company. I’ve posted tons of pictures of my personal collection on this forum. Reputable members (including Gary) bought product from me during the 1990s. And one member here (Andrew) has actually gone through several of the boxes in my storeroom.
This thread has turned into a shitshow lol, also this was my abandoned NR thread the information here is old and has since been updated: Guide to No RarityFor those interested it also contains more background information into the early history of the release like approx. print numbers etc. I will update that thread with the video information soon!
Some people like them, some don’t. They’re a niche item, and worth whatever the people who like them will pay. Don’t have the mass-sentimental factor that the 1st ed English has, but have similar historical importance. That’s about all there is to it!
I don’t care about 1st Edition shadowless that everyone seems to lose their minds and money over, because we didn’t get them in the UK as kids. Unlimited means more to me. Is this set worth more money? Nope, but it’s worth more to me as a collector.
I read some of @pokemonsyndicate ‘s posts (sorry man, I’m sure you make some good points but you cover them in manure when you use your made up language) and I guess what you’re trying to say is that if you have money, you can buy a PSA 10 1st Edition Charizard, but you can’t as easily obtain a PSA 10 no rarity Charizard. While that may be true, it still doesn’t make them an investment. It’s a niche item mate, which will never hold the same amount of sentimental value as the English set.
Would I mock you for collecting them? Of course not! I think it’s a fantastic undertaking! If we all collected the same thing, this forum would be pretty dry.
I thought this was interesting; Yahoo user selling 291 yen 104-01 packs with the ‘possibility’ of containing no rarity at an inflated price, with having sold one as well.
