There is no need to be upset, big bro, but there seems to be a relatively consistent pattern here and it doesn’t surprise me at all
I agree peeps have been combative or harsh but you take the bait and the cycle continues.
Back to topic:
I saw this thread on 4chan which made me chuckle, on their biz board to be specific
Probably another top signal for this cycle
Somebody posted this in there, lol
I don’t really want to involve myself on the greater debate that was going on here, but I’ll comment on the GS sales and say I wouldn’t have sold my GS Mew copy had I not wanted to purchase a Trophy Khan. @RoyalOak is also correct about the price range they’ve quoted.
I chose to sell the Mew and not something else simply because Gold Stars are the most liquid and practical sales if you want large figures quick (although, I do think the market is becoming more and more of a joke – and no, I don’t think Gold Stars should currently be 200k because a lobotomy patient bought modern slop for 5k… 10k etc). I do believe, however, it’s not unrealistic for them to reach that eventually. I actually think that’s an inevitability.
I essentially traded a high-tier gold star and a low-tier gold star for a Khan. I’m pretty happy with that trade, but I’m under no illusion that Gold Stars very well may grow to be more expensive. I got what I deemed to be more valuable to me personally, hence the sale.
Personal evaluation and financial constraints/pressure are really the only impetus for sales to occur. If people are comfortable, and they see value in holding the card (financial or sentimental), there’s no reason for a sale to occur. Whilst I sold the Mew, I have no plans to sell the Khan and would likely sell every other card I own before that.
i cant understand who would ever want a dark weezing, dark aarbok or fossil muk ![]()
Now now
I am also a fossil muk enjoyer
There are individuals who like smelly things, like Weezings, Muks and Taylor Swift’s shoes
And we can’t understand why you post Taylor Swift in show off your stuff in a Pokémon Discord. Agree to disagree.
Someone give this man a token
Cause its the best duh ![]()
I like Dark arbok….
Another thing too is much like other card hobbies. It’s okay to collect iconic cards in lower grades for Pokémon. No rarity or 1st edition base. Psa 1 - 3 set is a great goal. Shadowless or shinings? Psa 5-7/8 works too. Other grading companies like bgs or cgc is a way to collect a set too
outside of zard I remember the days when psa 7-9 1st ed base was the affordable option now its 3-6 soon it will be 1-2…..no shame in collecting lower grades! better to get a lower grade than nothing at all!
It’s interesting to watch what will happen to PSA 9 of so many sets. So many cards now like the EX Era etc, the 10’s have shot up so so so much, but the 9’s stay relatively the same.
Will these cards ever move, or is it just the big fish swimming in the 10 pond, while the 9 market floats along as is?
I agree. I’d rather have the cards than nothing at all. You even find nice looking copies and crack them for a beautiful binder set
Yeah I would imagine they will eventually correct as more and more people are priced out of 10s and the upside cools off people will just turn to the 9s and so on, that is usually how it has worked it just takes a little longer. Historically 10s tend to run first which leaves opportunity on the 9s then they run up some. at this point I would buy 9s over 10s for best value but that’s just my hunch
